some of my own wishlist for sony's next flagships:
1. sapphire front - i know its probably still way too expensive but i'd like to see sony starting to go in that direction.
2. sapphire/aluminum back.
3. if sony decide to keep the glass and shatter film then make them both more resistance to scratches and both with oleophobic coating. some people don't like to use screen films because they don't like the feel of touch and/or they use a front and back case.
4. print the front logo on the glass it self or don't print the front logo at all. its pretty cheap to print the logo on the film.
in terms of protection, s
1. +1
2. +2
3. +3
4. Why not make it glowing like in the case of TX? a small OLED display to project the logo would suffice, and it'd add up to the looks department

I prefer there to be no logos or anything on the front. A pristine black face, can look beautiful, almost organic. Seamless and minimalistic. It would look so sophisticated.

Agree with the glowing logo. BTW, what's the benefit of Sapphire glass and how is it better than Gorilla and Dragontrail glass?

sapphire is a stronger material, unscratchable or said only to be scratchable by diamond and more sensitive to touch.
very impressive (!) sapphire vs gorilla glass scratch test:

anyone know if Sony's crystal LED tech is dead ? as I would love to see this on an Xperia smartphone mainly just because it sounds cool and it would be a big leap in screen efficency and clarity. I ain't seen or heard anything about it for months now but from what I recall the display was simply stunning but still in early stages of development but that was back in January 2012. Can anyone shed any light on this.
Here is a couple of videos of Sony showing off a crystal LED tv early last year, enjoy

@XperiaJunckie
looks like sony chose to invest in OLED instead of CLED for entertaiment, at least for the time being:
http://www.techradar.com/us/n[....]n-oled-and-crystal-led-1123759
""We are internally still investigating the opportunity of how to make it. But Crystal LED looks only to be viable in huge screen sizes," Kentaro Matsumoto, product manager at Sony. "It's not easy to manufacture at a consumer price still because we are using one dot for three LEDs so it's expensive technology-wise. So we are still trying to work out what we can use it for, so we're talking medical uses, professional references devices possibly.""
""It's quite tough to work out which technology we're going to go for," Matsumoto told TechRadar. "We have a lot of considerations but we have to decide and choose which one we want. Of course we can utilise both in some way, but this year we wanted to utilise 4K and OLED itself as the panel technology.""

It took me a while to find this but again this is something that could pop up in a future Xperia device. Its from March 2012 and it is a patent application from Sony mobile. Below is a link to XperiaBlog.net which explains the patent and a link to the US patent & trademark office.
