Its the principle that is wrong. Even if one of the sensors is 1% worse than the other I would be really annoyed if I got the worse camera for the same price. As a consumer I have a right to ask for the one with the better sensor. If there is a shortage of Sony sensors then they should come clean and say they have changed it. If after some software updates one camera becomes buggy, people will be pissed. Regardless of quality, its not nice to deceive us. All it takes is a short statement from Samsung saying that there are different sensors, they don't even need to say why. If they don't come clean, put the phone in a Kinder Surprise so I can stuff myself with chocolate if I don't get the one I want.

Yup, you do have a point, they should just give out an explanation or something. Like when they did it on the Note 4 and I think the S5 as well? They should've informed the public.
But speaking for myself, if Im forced to choose which sensor I'd want, I'd choose the Isocell. Going by what you said... that future software updates are coming, I'd feel more at peace if I had a samsung sensor. Since its a samsung phone, using samsung firmware, and the updates developed by samsung - it might be less of a headache? Anyway lets hope that that's not the case.
cheers!

thanks for that...
I guess all those articles, sayin that there's no difference between the two, are wrong?
Looking at the pics... some pics taken with the Sony seems too blue, wouldn't you agree?
Like this example:
Im no expert, but if I were to guess, I think that the Sony sensor is just too vivid... in its rendering of colors.
That might explain why its pics look so vibrant. (and consequently not natural-looking).
Like this example shows: (the right pic is so vivid)
cheers!

For me S6's camera with Isocell or IMX240 it's a draw
Sometimes i prefer with Samsung sensor, sometimes the "Sony ones" but there's no huge differences imo
