Roops, no dram inside camera.

You know for sure? It's the same sensor in the s20+ which does indeed do 960fps. If no onboard dram then maybe it's processed through the 865 soc?

Trying to get info about DAC from him. Not sure would he know about that.

nice! can you also confirm if RAM is LPDDR5 or not?

Yes

Didn't they say LPDDR5 is only 12GB or 6GB? What about UFS 3.0?

I guess no 960fps anymore?

Doing a little research if the Xperia1ii does do 960fps slow-motion or not. The Samsung s20+ which is advertised to have 960fps capture using this same sensor. So would assume the IMX555 has stacked memory implemented, and I guess its just a simple omission on the Sony documented specs of the Xperia1ii that it missed 960fps slomo (well its doesn't actually specify it doesn't do it). What you all think?

It could as easily be that Sony's sensor version is custom without dram. Since they've mention 120fps in their pr I'm sure they would mention 960fps if it was there just like how they mentioned it for original Xperia 1 and didn't mention it on Xperia 5 release because it's not there.

EDIT: Actually it's right there on Sony's website, original Xperia 1 cam spec says memory stacked while Xperia 1 II cam doesn't have memory stacked on it. So no DRAM confirmed.

So it's confirmed no 960fps on the Xperia1ii(?) Then what's interesting is the Samsung using the same IMX555 sensor does have 960fps, without the use of stacked dram it must be using the speed of the qualcom 865 soc to achieve it?? This would be implemented in software, and so may be a feature Sony can implement by firmware update (if they so desire)

Apologies I sound like a dog with a bone that won't let go of this 960fps. I really want to upgrade to the Xperia1ii and don't want to lose this slowmo feature I already have, even though its something I seldom use but just don't want to loose it on an upgrade... it feels like I'm going backwards by loosing features

These photos were exhibited during the press to show the AF skills.
Official video is 21:9 .. 😊

1 ii has DVS ... 😒

Larger main camera, more battery and smaller body.
See, that is why I said I was sure 3300 mAh was choice, not lack of competence.
