OK all you Orange users, I tried to blag it by giving it the Earlier CDA number, didn't tell me this time that my phone was already up-to-date, but made no difference at all. At the end of the update that seemed to go through successfully I'm still left with all my original firmware setings, so it looks like us Orange users are stuffed..

Anyone on Orange who manages please post how you did it, but it looks like the update service is to clever for me.... Off to drink more Scotch.

Bye Bye

Just updated mine took about 15 minutes a long time but a lot quicker than the service center

So I tried killing all processes that I wouldn't need for this... I killed my iPodservices, Pocket PC services, disabled virusscanner, killed just about everything I thought was of no use... Ran the application again... Still keeps saying my phreaking fone is not switched off or the phreaking battery is not fully charged...

I think I'll stop by the Service center tomorrow 'cause I've been trying to get this to work since about 3 o'clock this afternoon and it's now 11pm...

So after reading all the posts here, the bottom line is...I have to switch off the phone, put the phone in its cradle, wait till the battery is fully charged and the LED turns green then run the update? is this the correct way? Just want to make sure

Hey.. You might try to run it in Recovery Mode... Although you have not gone through any of the steps I think this is your best bet.. Going through recovery mode will get you past that error...

I just had a successful upgrade. Yes, I turned off my phone as instructed in the website and my battery was at full charge then. The procedure is pretty simple. I used the automatic mode by the way.
