On my 900 its flip on all the way...on my 800 its a definate off. if you keep it in its pouch there's no chance its gonna scratch, and can be stowed in there much quicker without the flip. The 900 doesnt have that prob with its pansy case (which i use none the less-damn belt clip!!!)

mainly due to the fact that there are ABSOLUTELY NO BENIFITS gained from removing the flip!

if i want to use it as a pda i open the flip - it ein't that hard
