As I know, There is a GSM network in Pyongyang, DPKR, but the service may be limited. You can use ur phone but may not be able to get intl roaming there. You need to get a local subscription. All the mobile netwks are cdma in S. Korea. Two big operators: KT & SK. Ever read somewhere they tested to make gsm sub to use a specially designed phone in order to roam to their netwk, so that you can be reached with the original phone number.
