firstly i ride BMX too!

secondly, you spent "every last penny" on your phone, which was stupid man! Unless you could easily afford it, you wouldn't buy one of the most expensive(the most in AUS) phones on the market! wtf.

What propels the P800 directly to the trash can is its flip and its stylus, in my opinion. The flip is, seriously, perhaps the ugliest thing ever created and isn't even properly backlit (well, obviously). In addition, the P800 stylus isn't even a real stylus, but simply a way of covering up the Memory Stick slot.

"Oh yes, let's use the slot lid as a stylus!" Surely, it stands out in the crowd among other styli, but I'm certain it does so in a bad way.

The P1000 better be titanium or aluminum, as switchblade insisted. I've owned numerous handhelds before, of which all have been made from metal. The Sony Ericsson T610 is even encapsulated in an aluminium shell. Seeing as we pay a lot for our precious P900 phones, they should indeed be made out of some kind of metal.

I've never had any problem with the stylus, it's comfortable to use (considering it's size), easy to get to in a hurry, and generally quite practical. The main objection most people seem to have is that it's unconventional - but then so is the whole notion of the P800.

I think really that's the main difference between the two phones - with the P8 they tried to give this new kind of "device" it's own style, but with the P9 they just gave up and made it as PDA-alike as possible. Obviously most people are happier with it placed in that more conventional box.

The P800 seems to me that they had a good idea, but ruined it with a poorly designed casing (i.e. the stylus and flip) and colors fit for a child (which they tried to fix with the gray cases; didn't work).

I compare it to a car which looks unlike any other car available, but still looks like shit (because it has a bright blue transparent plastic body and crappy flip).

I have heard people say that the P800 has a "European" design, and the P900 has a "Japanese" design, and it seems somewhat true. BUT! I have seen much better design come out of Europe (and much worse for that matter). The P900 just seems less "fluffy" then the P800... That is, designed in a more straight-forward manner, no bullshit, no frills.

And that is what I like.

BLUE! i thought that this was not a child/girl/fag colour. the blue p800 is definatly not a child toy and is quite unisex!

seriously, perhaps the P8 is a failed attempt to design something special (failed because the majority seem to find it offputting) but that doesn't make the P9 some kind of design classic - it's just far more conventional, and far more like everyone expects a pda/phone like that to look. there's no originality or imagination there.

Beauty isn't arguable! (it's lamentable)
Well, in my opinion, P900 is much more a 1st class phone than P800, like for a 'business man' phone, even more if you mention the price of SE Px00 series.
P800 for girls? Well, can be... girls likes 'phone toys'. But can a girl use all the functions of a P800? Not most of them!

BRAZIL RULES HERE!
