i must admit that your game is very original and an outstanding scenario of war loving ants.

I was going to add a teleport that repositioned you randomly somewhere else on the map, and you skipped your turn.
Version 1.06 is now published. This fixes a couple of bugs I introduced with 1.05 and you can have random ruins and fruit maps.

@ Floss. Well done on a truely outstanding game. As many of the bigger tweaks have been suggested, and taken onbaord by yourself, the following are just fun suggestions.
- Just a thought while playing, when the winning team is shown, perhaps focus the screen on the last ant to have attacked, or zoom out slowly from the screen, to show the battle field. Also all the remaining ants should do that wee victory dance continously that they do when they kill another ant.
- On the headstone that pops up when an ant dies, perhaps in tiny letters, inscribed upon the headstone the initials of the ant that died?
- When a granade is thrown a small countdown is shown next to it, until it detonates?
- I would personally hate this, but maybe an option to include music in-game?
- A version number in the info page of the options?
- Include simple idle animations for an that has been selected but no command has been given? e.g. Scratching head or reloading gun.
- Perhaps when they are selected, a random voice clip confirming selection ('Commandos' [PCCD] style) e.g. "At your service sir!" or "Ready for action!". You should also be able to turn off this feature.
- When a missle or gun is pointed in the general direction of an opposing ant, that ant looks wide eyed or an exclamation is displayed above their head?
- In the demo version the map ends just before the right hand side of the screen resulting in a line up the side. Perhaps you might want to remove this.
- Falling/flying tombstones and crosses should hurt ants.
- When a blast hits the ground (as oppose to exploding in the air) the screen should shake and the phone vibrate slightly to emphisise the impact?
- Not sure if this is in the full version, but you should be able to import your own picture from your picture gallery to make up the flag.
- This would be really tricky i can imagine, but if you recieve a call or text message a crate automatically drops from the sky as a bonus?

You are awarded point for damage done to the enemy. You lose double points for damage done to your own team. You also gain points for the remaining health at the end of the game. So if you win, but hurt your own ants a lot you can easily end up with a lower score than the losing team.

I was trying to think of a way to at least show the team colour, but it never looked right. There isn't enough resolution on the stones for three letters, so naming the ant isn't possible.

This would look weird on the grenades now because each one takes a different length of time to explode depending on what it is doing. Sounds strange I know, but it seems to work really well (and noone has complained).

I'm just waiting for the ingame music. I think the guy is busy with some commercial work at the moment though so it might be a little while yet. If you save a soundtracker mod as d:\documents\soldierants\music\ingame.mod it should already play ingame... the player is a bit flaky though and wont play all mods correctly.

I like that, my only reservation is that sound effects take a lot of memory and space on your phone. But it is a good idea.

That is also excellent! I wanted to do that for a grenade landing at the feet of an ant too.

Hmmm, Ill think about that. I kinda like it but it sounds really harsh. On the otherhand it might lead to some interesting gameplay. I might try it out first and then make a decision.

I wont make that a true feature of the game, but I could make it import any saved into the flags folder.

I dont like that idea much, it would be really easy to cheat.

@floss: about the sound taking space.. as i don't have a p800/p900 i don't know whether it supports .ogg but isn't there another compressed format that the p series support and you don't need to pay any rights of using? I think there is compressed .wav not sure though.
