The status of performing the updates with a DSS-20 seems a bit unclear at the moment. If you read the
www.totalserver.net site it says
"USB Cables like Fighter USB cables, DSS-20 or DSS-25 Original SonyEricsson USB Devices (drivers supplied by cable developer) these cables were tested by our team however we do not guarantee DSS-xx cable support"
So it appears that somehow its possible to use a DSS-20 but no-one seems to know how. According to iamcrunchie definite support for the DSS-20 and 25 is coming soon.

I just bought a credit - cheap enough. When I click "Info" or try to browse the download area though, it fails with "Unable to connect to server!".
I have no firewall s/w etc., so is it just down? Or something else?

@jmbillings - I have the same problem and I can't see the server status anywhere on totalserver.net.

Server appears to be down again as I can't connect to it either. Just have to wait and try later...

Just had the following reply from Face Off Mobiles Support about the confusion over using the DSS-20 with Total Multiserver v1.24
Quote:
Right its completed but we hav to word it right
As we said FTDI based SonyEricsosn USB cables are supported
DSS-2x is a FTDI based SE BUT cable
BUT support for the DSS-20 is not 100% and we can not guarantee it will
work we have successfully tested it but many hve not been able to use it
At this time we only recommend using the cable we sell
Regards Face Off Mobiles
Does that make it clearer?!!
I'm not sure what an FTDI based cable is, but I just ordered one of their cables to be on the safe side.

I just have a thought I want to put out to you all. I remember something (not sure if it was true) that after a while Sony Ericsson blocked de-branded P900's from being able to use the online update service.
Two Questions:
A) Is this true
B) If so, are we all about to take the unecessary risk of not being able to use the update service in the future
