yes, like the P900 update, the P910 overwrites everything but you are prompted to backup before the update and restore after the update so be sure to do that!

Does anyone know if P910i's with Orange firmware can be updated at this time? This message was posted from a P910

There have been a couple P910 owners that have tried updating with their carrier modified phones (Orange) and so far no luck. The system is telling them that their phones are not supported and reports that it's because the provider hasn't authorized it, blah blah blah. Don't count on any authorization in the near future either. So in short, the exact same story as when SE begin clamping down on P900 owners. The system still does an IMEI check so no getting around the system by flashing your phones with virgin software. But then again, time will tell if anything else develops.

Thanks for the link, I found it any way. This is only available in the Europe/UK site, I was trying to find this in the America-USA site and this update service is not available there as they have not released the P910a version yet. Make sense.

I did the upgrade successfully on 3rd attempt. It gave me communication error twice, but finaly did work. All the original apps were back on by default. Did the restore from the backup I took minutes before update and everything works just fine, no glitch at all. First impression, it does seems a little faster browsing through different menus. Not much of a difference though. Well have the latest firmware now.
