If he's already overclocking his 64Bit CPU then he's obviously not satisfied with the speed of it. I've been using AMD's all my life, and i've got an AMD XP2500+ Mobile CPU @ 2400Mhz. Temperatures are sky high, but it's stable.
Only problem is that it just doesn't seem that quick for me. I recently built a P4 3Ghz 1MB cache machine for a friend, and it was extremely quick! Compared to my friends AMD64 system, i know i'd choose P4 over it. 3Ghz P4's can be had for around £100, and is far cheaper than most top end AMD64 CPU's.
Tempatures in the P4 machine were around 45*C with stock cooling, which isn't too bad. With third party cooling i'm sure you could get it around 30*C.
Thats what i think anyways

The heat has always been a big issue when it comes down to AMD which makes it more incredible to me that they condone third party cooling systems, iu have seen amd systems in tempretures in excess of 100, i look forward to the new dual core processors mentioned last year

I translated heat sink from my langauge and tried to google anything similar, haha, but what I mean is like somthing like pliers but that are coated in rubber from the inside so that you cover that in an attempt to stop the heat from traveling to the inside.

I dont know how to explain it, but its an apparatus that you use to ensure that the heat doesnt pass through the wire or whatever, it absorbs all the heat itself and doesnt let anything pass to the other side.
