Bought the Mineral Grey SE T68i from Sony Style in KLCC last wednesday.

Paid RM1699 but on interest free 12 split payments on my Standard Chartered Visa. I walked around Sg Wang and most vendors were offering the T68 (artic blue) at RM1450-1550. Hard to trust these guys though. I keep worrying that I might get a recon/underwater set which is passed off as genuine.

Has anyone updated their firmware in Malaysia?

Hi Mr. Alwi Yunus
Firstly, welcome to the exciting, hectic, busy etcetc... world of esato!
If yo are worried that you might get a 'submarine' set, you can always check for the ericsson hologram sticker and the sirim sticker under the battery. Ohya... not to forget the southall warranty card!
Well too late for that but anyways you can get your firmware updated either at telemas, bandar sunway or ericserve, amcorp mall. Personally, im still using r2a014 but i plan to update it soon and dont forget to bring your warranty card!

Thanks for the welcome!

I upgraded my firmware at EricServe at Amcorp. The process took about half an hour. I now am at R5C001. There is also an upgrade for my bluetooth headset (HBH30?) but they don't have it at the moment although they said they will get it soon. I must say the screen looks brighter and the menus are more responsive with this new firmware. More important, the data accounts have been upgraded. I no longer need to change the APN to access WAP and data connections (via bluetooth from my laptop). WAP access now works with a dialog box popping up asking if I want to connect with my "secondary account" which lists the APN for WAP.

They also have the T68 holster for RM44 ( I paid RM90 after bargaining it down from RM100 at Sg Wang. Dang!

Yes, the ict13 is available at EricServe for RM44.

I couldn't be happier with my phone, I'm surfing via bluetooth and GPRS with my laptop (free on Celcom - for now, at least). I've also configured my palm device (Sony Clie NR70) to surf/e-mail.
