Well, to assist your understanding, there are always people who want to experience new technology as soon as it becomes available and rush out to buy everything as soon as it is released. These people (aka early adopters) are effectively the beta-testers for the manufacturers and over time, and firmware revisions, the bugs get fixed.
I can't understand what difference it makes whether you buy it first or wait for the bugs to be fixed. We can all upgrade our firmware so what does it matter. I bought a K750i (as well as all the P-series phones, a few Nokias, too many BT headsets not to be embarrassing etc) as soon as I could get my hands on one, and I'm delighted.
But, hey, I'm sure you think we should all just stick to Nokias, huh
Incidentally, Jung was a philosopher.

Hi guys,
I just called O2 (Online) as I'm due an upgrade. They confirmed that they didn't have any in stock and the next batch were due in on the 20th June.
They didn't mention anything about firmware upgrades and to be honest I wouldn't expect them to. It would appear that O2 are just passing this off as a stock issue.
I shall be calling them on the 20th to order mine and had they have had them in stock today I'd have ordered one anyway.
All this scaremongering is just rubbish. As was previously stated, we can all update our firmware, so what's the problem.

I've had my phone running for a few days without crashing now since turning off the standby clock....i know there are other bugs which do need addressing but the phone for me is at least now not crashing...the other things i can cope with until the upgrade/replacement surfaces

But why should buyers be forced with all the hassle? It's a top notch phone and If i dragged up the money to find it buggy i'd be annoyed. But i see ur point.

Of course, not all the 02 phones appear to suffer from the problem. Mine has been powered on for about three weeks now, is heavily used each day (stills, video, mp3's, txt's, all the usual stuff) and hasn't crashed once....

I don't really think this is an o2 problem, more a sony ericsson one in my honest opinion. But i have had the phone since launch and its only reset itself once (and when i say reset, the phone screen went white). So i don't want to change my phone even though o2 are doing the right thing to offer affected customers a replacement

Hi ARTY when I contacted O2 after waiting ages on my upgrade they told me that they hadnt been trying to contact their customers (although I know they had) and that if they had they would have been in-undated with calls! I dont know what the deal is with o2! why cant they be standardised across the board and not tell one person something and others something completely different! Good business sense?? I dont think so!
