That's the theory. It should work absolutely fine.

Anyway, must get some sleep.

I had originally asked about CDA, but now I've figured it out: it can be changed at the same time as the firmware.

Now my question is: does the language variation I entered matter?

Hi guys. I recently debranded my K750i through davinci. However, I did not change the CDA...

Do you have any idea if this can be done without buying another credit? also, What CDA should I use? the details for my phone are:

CDA 102286/8 R2A
cxc125953 R1J002
1E0W
EUROPE_5

Thanks!

@ Max Power
Indeed, the CDA can be changed at the same time as flashing, which is the best time to do it as it doesn't cost another credit. I don't think the language variation does matter, just the CDA. I would think that the language variation will be altered when you update the phone with the Sony Ericsson Update Service anyway.

@ bart_bv
There's no way to change it without another credit I'm afraid. You'll find a list of CDAs for each country here.

OK to answer my question: yes you can use DaVinci with the K750 using the update drivers installed for use with the SEUS - you don't have to change to the drivers that come with DaVinci.

FTP problems: currently for some reason the K750 flasher from DaVinci is unable to contact the DaVinci FTP server, even after selecting "update settings". I got round this: if you download the standard DaVinci client (not the K750 specific one) you can use it to download the firmware files, then switch to the K750 specific flasher to flash them.

using both the above I've successfully unbranded my Orange K750i. The only differences I've noticed so far are the fewer and better predefined photos etc., changed order of icons, there is a Sony Ericsson services icon instead of the Orange download one, and when sending .url files to the phone now it keeps the original title of the bookmarks instead of having to edit them individually. (saved me a job!)

flashing clears the phone memory and resets all settings, but happily doesn't clear the memory stick. after flashing you'll have to download the settings for wap, mms etc. from the Sony Ericsson site (or input them yourself if you know them)

cheers

@kingqueen

Could you post all the settings you entered into the CDA section of the flasher, and which firmware you downloaded?

Have got a Vodafone branded 750i and want to put it back to how it should be!

Cheers

I didn't bother with the CDA settings, I rather wished I had now. I assumed that the default settings for CDA as set in the K750 flasher would be for a generic CDA. The CDA number on my phone is now:

CDA102286/8 R2A

I just tried the SEUS and got the message about the service not working at present with devices from my operator. The above CDA isn't in the list of K750 CDAs as given in the link somebody helpfully put above. I wonder if this is why the SEUS now doesn't work with it, or if it is because the SEUS is currently not doing much due to the problems with the firmware.

When the DaVinci Team client becomes able to unlock the phone, I will change the CDA to the generic UK one as listed in the post.

I flashed the following files to my phone:
(as listed in the file list, K750 R1J002 EU2, as EU1 doesn't seem to be available on the DaVinci Team server)

Main: K750i_R1J002_MAIN_EU_EMEA.DVT
FS: K750i_R1J002_FS_EU2.DVT

@ mephisto2k
Assuming you're in the UK:
- CDA Number: CDA102338/38
- CDA Revision: R6A
- Model: K750i
- Language Variant Name: EUROPE_2

@ kingqueen
The CDA doesn't ever stop the SEUS from working. The way the SEUS works is that it determines whether your phone can use the service based on its IMEI, but downloads the correct firmware based on the CDA. All K750s are currently blocked due to the problems with R1J. You will want to change your CDA before using the SEUS in future though, as I'm not sure what that CDA is, and it could rebrand your handset.
