Yeah, it looks like are on the warpath with their new phones, they're obviously trying very hard to repair the damaged caused by launching last years phones with Donut.

I'm sure staff said that 2.4 was not really that, but 2.3 at the Arc announcement. I don't doubt that it will get 2.4 but the show units were not running true 2.4 as far as I am aware.

They will not make the same misstake again as they did with the x10 and the minis. Their new handsets is optimised for easy updates with their SE implements as apps and widgets on top of the android core. On the X10 they had it so deep in the android core so it took ages to complete an OS upgrade. Everybody is pissed of at SE for not upgrading to Froyo but the truth is that they would probably just mess it up and make it worse. That will never happen with these new handsets.

The design of Xperia Arc gives it plenty of 'Wow Factor' which will make it hard to ignore when displayed instore next to other, probably, more powerful devices.

Well unless they display it with it's screen facing the wall, very few people will notice it's cool back. Nor will it make any difference to them, they'll only be interested in how it looks from the front.

i think themes are supported for this new batch of xperias. i saw a vid of the xperia pro. you can change the theme from the homescreen. the themes look the same though - the wavy thingy - but they come in different colors.
