I never said that an XZ1 Ultra is coming, I mentioned that there 'perhaps' could be an old prototype that isn't very comfortable in terms of ergonomics. The XA1 Ultra on the other hand is a good size and is comfortable to use, anything larger than the XZ Premium won't cut it unless there can be a big increase in screen size. The side mounted fingerprint scanner makes the thing fat straight away so it demolishes my jeans pocket with such a footprint. Such a device wouldn't be competitive considering the Note 8 is coming and it will have a good screen to body ratio.

What I will say is that there is the intention to continue the Compact devices. If we get one this year it will most likely be another iteration of the loop design, if next year then the new design. I'm not convinced that it'll have the top end processor but I'd be happy if it has something like an SD820 with good optimisation. If it were to get the ultra slo-mo camera then that would be awesome for a device with a smaller screen. This niche has opened up again, I hope that Sony can deliver a proper successor to the Z1/Z3/Z5 Compact.

+1 thats the perfect next phone for me, a compact with the camera tech of the XZ Premium, that would be enough of a reason for me to upgrade my Z5 Compact.

I hope at MWC18, a XZ1s does not show up.
X Perf and XZs were completely unnecessary.
There is much more difference between z3 and z3+ than between XZ and XZs.

I'd like to see only one rear cam, bigger sensor. Something like 1/2.1" f1.6.
Hardware strong enough to record 3s of SSM.

If anyone here has contact with someony at Sony, ask to bring a white phone.
White looks great , you do not see fingerprints on the back panel.

Any solid info about XZ1 having QHD screen? Gazyekichi.com talks about this possibility.
By the way, would be XZ1 glass or alkaleido metal?

if record 3s super slow motion, that's gonna be 96s video.....
And 5s video now is around 8MB, if 96s video, will be over 150MB...and recovery time need to be within 1s....That's hard

Bigger sensor and bigger aperture could be possible in the coming future, but i would really see bigger sensor with slightly lower resolution while providing pixel pitch more than 1.55um

also the reason why Sony dont put QHD(1440P) on smartphone is because QHD isnt not a regular resolution, you cant divide pixel in video with standard(720,1080,2160) perfectly on 1440P screen, while 720P,1080P and 2160P screen is possible
