I think the camera module which cant zoom in big size maybe not bad. Maybe it has different zoom funtion, it cuts picture from 1632×1224.
for example, in 640×480 size, when 1x, it takes in 1632×1224 and saves as 640×480, when 2x, it takes in 1632×1244, cuts 1280×960 of the pic and saves as 640×480, when 2.5x, it takes in 1632×1224, cuts 640×480 of the pic and saves. in 1632×1224, it only has 1x for this method. So the camera module can zoom 2.5x in 640×480, but cant zoom in 1632×1224.
If it is this method, the picture quality wont be bad when zooming.
it just my imagination, maybe is wrong

You are totally right. K750i can only save zoomed pictures at smaller size by edge-cutting (crop) from the originslly size (1632x1224). I remembered i complained about this a long time ago It is useless to zoom at the size 640x480 as the pictures are too bad. However, w810i and cid36 can save zoomed pictures at any size. You are lucky and I hope this can end this discussion

The other problem of the new cid49 maybe come from this reason that the camera module is a new one, but the driver is old. The new cid49 camera module is similar to K550's, maybe the driver or some commands of K550 can be used in new cid49. maybe someone would test it

When I have free time I will test or you can test by urself by changing the I2C bus on k550 and use the correct properties for it.

I cant do that because my camera module is the old one.

One thing I should mention about zoom:
With original driver I could zoom only 2,5x at VGA resolution, but with modified driver I can zoom 4x at VGA.
No matter if zoomed picture size is VGA or is interpolated. If possible, let the driver saves zoomed pictures without interpolation.

I had many problems to crop taken pictures in the phone. It is depended on MIN MAX AVG quality values in camdriver, if values are not correct, it fails during saving the crop (of already taken picture without zoom).

Kriomag it looks better and better on every pic but isn't there the overexposure problem in ENM,EM? And is the driver compatible with your configtool?
