So I wonder if this is the 13" tablet we heard rumored months ago. I honestly might bite, especially because of the 10 hour battery life.

Sorry. I was just stating what I think is going wrong with Android, Sony and all companies that make Android phones. I'm excited about the Honami because of its hardware. If Sony were to throw vanilla Android 4.2 on it with their Walkman, Camera, PSM apps etc only and deliver faster updates with better optimization and less bugs I would be much happier...

The latest Nexus devices are highly regarded not only because of their timely OS updates but the OS experience as a whole. Nexus devices have been lagging on the hardware side though. A Nexus device that can outshine the competition in hardware imo will most likely sell the most... All these companies are so worried about differentiating their OS experience when they should be doing what they're good at, differentiating their hardware. After all they are NOT software giants like Google, MS, Apple, FB etc.

Doesnt make sense. Smartphones and phones existed before google and apple entered the smartphone business. Manufacturers have always had the responsibility of making their own platform. Infact

had won several awards for their ui and a good os. Sony is lagging behind now in terms of software. Their hardware has always been different and beautiful. If that isn't helping it sell then its clearly a fault of software optimization. You interact with your hardware via software. If that isnt upto mark then people will start getting frustrated.
There is no point in having a phone when its not reliable as a phone. I learned that from xperia go. In a situation where you have an emergency and your phone is basically stuck every now and then, takes as much as 30 sec to launch dialer, then clearly its not fit for being a phone. With jelly bean they are better but still are at a level that is average.Even if many people dont want many features, they certainly want a phone that works right. I havent found a single place including this forum where people have criticized their software. I am all up for sony giving plain android, provided it works as it should on a nexus.

@djin The OSs they had back then were much more basic and aren't comparable to Android. Changes to Android need to be made much more carefully since the OS can multitasking and anything added to or stripped from it can change a lot... Sony lagging behind on hardware in their phones using last years SoCs and displays and cameras that fail to impress... They've only deliver on the design/build quality on the hardware side thus far... And as I said I believe along with an improvement in hardware if they cut down on the skinning and focus on performance they will help change Androids' image and increase their sales.
The table isn't a tablet, it's an ultrabook/tablet hybrid and most likely runs Windows 8, not RT, with the upcoming Intel Haswell CPU

I saw nothing about smartphone shipments in their financial report. Where did you find 8.1 millions, ramu?

The features of this as well as those of the new VAIO Fit makes me believe ONE SONY is
real. It also gives me high hopes for the Honami's specs and design being true. The Triluminos screen in this new Windows 8 tablet looks great!
