It's strange that there are so many of us here, all talking about possible new FW release date, every one is suggesting something, yet none of us has the slightest idea when and if a new FW will be released. Esato is a large community and doesn't anybody have a REAL contact who can enlighten us ? After all Esato is one of the biggest community for S.E users.

I bought a Garmin GPS in August 2005, I updated the Gps FW on December 2005, and since that day all of us "Garmin Ique M5 gps users" were waiting for the next FW until recently Garmin decided that they discontinue this Gps. You can imagine how pissed we were after waiting for so many months.

I hope our "waiting for new P990 FW" experience won't be similar.

week 48 .....

Just as i wrote at my-symbian:
A1 vodafone (Austria) told me, that there will be a new firmware version at the end of November. Wich will also be the next firmware version approved for vodafone branded p990i.

Well if week 48 is when the next firmware will be available for Vodafone, does that mean theoretically that it might be available for Generic World phones earlier than that. That seems to be how things worked for the last update, so hopefully the next one will come sooner than week 48 for those of us with non-branded phones. Is this reasonable to assume?

Jah said he has been given a newer Vodafone firmware

but no indication when SE will be releasing it or what is stopping them from doing so.

I'm too starting to doubt my choice of phone. I have a long list of things that annoy me.

1) Why can't I add a shortcut to the alarm with or without the flip? There's no easy way of activate the alarm without using touching the screen.

2) When using the camera with flip open (off) you have to touch the screen to zoom, activate the light, adjust brightness etc. On the S700 you could activate the light with the keylock slide button on the side.

3) To do-list in standby mode... Where is the choice of putting the notes on the standby mode. Or the calendar for that sake.

4) When the mediaplayer is minimized, how do I easily change the volume? The HPM-82 doesn't work to P990i.

5) Why must the mediafiles be updated everytime before I play music?

6) When flip is off, there's no easy way of deactivating the sound without picking on the screen.

7) If I listens to music and there is an incoming call, there is two short tones, but the music continues. Very easy to miss the incoming call. Just stop the music, please!!

The resolution on the pictures in the contacts sucks big time, although the original pictures are of high resolution.

This was just the annoying things... Now the bugs. (R7A)

1) Can't add mp3's to my MMS

2) Contacts shut down, often with an errorcode.

3) When activating/deactivating the keylock on the side button it often comes up a text saying "123", like I've chosen text alternative "numbers".

4) When I add birthdays in my contacts and choose not to add to the calendar and then syncronise with MS Outlook, they pop up anyway in the Outlook calendar. Then they are syncronised back to the phone on the next sync.

5) With the flip open the icon to the left leads to the overview over Missed calls, Messages, ToDo and Calendar. When skipping between the headlines the text remains and becomes written double. See the picture (It's in Swedish).

Familiar?

That's all for now...

R7 is the PHONE firmware and is irrelevant

The latest ORGANISER firmware is R3B01 and that is where the changes are. There has been no new update for some time now.
