Thanks. I wonder if rumours of the delays or the device running hot were just on purpose to give Qualcomm bad press? Although Samsung has said no to the 810, wonder if this is due to the supposed overheating or if Samsung just wants to use their own Exynos and boast it is better? Although this is the development platform so perhaps the 810 is running hot in production phones. We'll see once more devices ship with the 810.

With a narrower architecture, similar clock speeds and better power efficiency it shouldn't really be running hotter than the previous generation chips. Basic high school physics will tell you as much.

your high school physics doesn't talk about clock rate, leakage, quantum effect...etc on these node scales...
