Im on Orange in the uk and tried to update,
It still says my phone has the current version.

I have a Orange Phone and not a Unbranded one working on orange.

This may have something to do with it?

yes branded phones allways gets updates alot later than unbranded, because the update need to first be get Orange for branding before releasing on SEUS

You got the same problem as me ?
firmware update went well, but now the phone wont turn on ??

Or the first problem I had where it wouldent update because of the operator ?

It was the operator problem. I have had my completely SIM free K700 for a year and this was the first time I had this problem.

My advice - dont try to update anymore - or youl risk ending up where I am now. use a servicecentre instead if possible.

This nogood updateservice has now ruined a phone for me 2 times

Im really fed up

I done used SEUS with no problems at all.In Sweden and Telia as operator.

Flashing screen after update
Try this:
Just take the battery off for about 10-20 seconds and put it back.
Worked fine for me anyway

tried that many times, and tried recover phone from Davinci also, nothing helps

Just keep getting that flashing white screen
