Hello all, sorry for the inggris post but I want to ask if anyone can help me with WAP settings for XL Indonesia sim card in Singapore.
I was there the other day in transit and I could only send SMS. I was unable to use wap. I find this strange because when I am in Japan, the 3G works fine for internet.
Is there something that I missed in Singapore? Shouldn't it work without changing any settings?

Sorry, unfortunately you cannot, as the 3G service in Singapore is just for contracted cards from each provider, in this case SingTel, StarHub, and M1. Even the local pre-paid SIM cards don't have 3G capability and that's really sucks. I have asked them several times and that's it.

Btw, are you sure that you're using xl simcard? If yes, what kind of service?

Or Xplor?
I thought in singapore it's better to use local operator such as SingTel, since you will get charged for international roaming fees... It's so expensive!

Tombol lanjut jg nggak isa ditekan...

Terus coba seus lagi, tekan 2+5, hasil na sama, ngga bisa tekan tombol lanjut...
Tapi begitu aq ulang pakai tombol c, ternyata bisa tekan tombol lanjut (reflash.) Koq bisa gt yah?
Akhir na seus download firmware 10 menitan gt, flashing, dan eureka! Hp aq hidup lagi!
Horeee! Kepada KulanKendi, balikin dong duit aq, secara hp aq udah bangkit dari kubur

Gw bingung, itu dapat "ilmu menyesatkan" dari mana untuk tahan tombol 2+5 waktu update K850?
Dari dulu sampai sekarang yang selalu gw lakukan adalah menekan tombol "c" di handphone apapun kecuali tombol "2" di W880.

Thanks for the replies. I am, indeed using an XL Bebas SIM. Have been for years. I found it odd that I can use 3G in Japan, but had no WAP in Singapore. Yes, the price of roaming is expensive, but I was there for only a day. The SMS I sent (same as Japan) is 4000 IDR each. That's a lot, but it was worth it. In Japan, I got a welcome sms from XL that said WAP was only 25 rupiah per KB or so. It was very convenient while there. Thus, my disappointment in Singapore.
If one buys a pre-paid SIM in Singapore, do you get WAP, without 3G? Any idea if Telcomsel has a roaming agreement in Singapore that would give me WAP?

As ocean21 said, 3G is exclusive to local contracted sim. If you only stay for a day, I thought it's better to use your XL sim card.
Telkomsel also has roaming agreement with Singapore, especially with Halo contract sim service.
