Anyone please know something about the CPU?? the video looks amazing and the device is quite fast according to it but I would really be interested to know the frequency of the CPU. I don't believe it's all in RAM. THX
I'm wondering about the same thing ...

Looks nice - don't you think it'll be called M700i instead of P700i ?
Anyway it seems that there are no longer any reasons for buying the P990?

no reason to buy the p990i any more?
i know that i can sms and do reminders much faster in flip closed mode one handed than i can on the m600... plus searching for contacts works for me much faster in flip closed...
it's more a matter of what you like most...
same with cars, if we were all happy with a ford generic, there wouldn't be any need for thousands of different cars on the market.. but we're not... thank god because otherwise lambourghini wouldn't have made the murcielago superleggera and that's a great car, just like the p990i (with all its quirks) is a great phone... but if you like something different, that's great...
variety is what makes life so interesting...

Agreed with toby23, P990 close keypad will be sorely missed if the launch of P700 means the end of P9xx series. I am still using P900 and it serves me so fine for years, put aside the lack of features compare to M600, P990 and now P700.

i think it looks fine. not as good as the m600 though. the w880 is a beauty in real life, and SE may have done the same thing with this...

Hi, that's becos the apps are already started and the P700 with so much free RAM memory, have been caching all apps in memory for fast switching over rather than re-starting them up from scratch.
Hi PerterKay, is it possible to try and do 2 demos; One using BootMan, start up as many apps as possible, and then browse around the menus and going into those applications that BootMan have already started. The 2nd, showing the phone in OFF mode, then booted up from the moment it is powered off-->on. And then start to browse around the menus and start those apps manually. Record the above 2 processes using your video cam too
The above 2 demos will show how important sufficient RAM memory is for these UIQ 3 devices cos the more RAM memory we have, the more apps we can start up and let them stay in the background for super fast switching (P700 of course, with 80MB RAM memory at boot time) vs not enough RAM memory, OS kills off apps automatically very so often and we have to manually re-start those apps again and again (cough...P990i... cough with only 17MB at boot time)...

Truth is, most people dont need 20 apps running at same time, althogh is nice to have the option. I guess if the upgrade to symbian 9.3 puts the p990 with more than 20mb at boot, and no memory leaks, we will be more than ok untill the true successor comes

Hi,
What about the SIP Services or VOIP calls on the P700i?
Regards
