R1FE?do u mean R1FA035 or theres a new fw out thr.

the theme bug is a common problem when your phone automatically reboots itself, but whn u turn it on/off by yourself,it shld stay as yr desired theme.

the 99% battery indicator is also a bug since the 1st fw.but its not much of a problem anyway, whn its 99% usually it means fully charged.

There are two methods - one using your PC and another using your handset. I have not tried with the handset as it involves extra cost for data transfer to the handset.

What is Sony Ericsson Update Service?
The Sony Ericsson Update Service application is a convenient way to easily update your phone with the latest available software to improve performance. You can access the Update Service application over the internet from your computer.

How do I use the Update Service application?
Once you have installed the Update Service application on your computer, double-click the Update Service icon that appears on the desktop and follow the instructions. If you need help installing Update Service, please refer to the Getting started guide. Update Service is an online application and needs access to the Internet when in use.

omg !!! nw i'm even more scared

Don't cry! Though there is a possibility of bricking your handset I think probability is very very low.

you install then run the Sony Ericsson Update Service software on your computer, which then uses your internet connection to download the firmware to your computer. Only once the firmware is downloaded will the software commence updating the phone. So if your internet connection fails at this point it will not affect the update process.

thank you sooooooo much ! it sounds fairly simple now. but my pc is v slow and old. so it might not work. but u said i can update it from my phone ??? wow its my best option. i buy data bundles from my network so the data transfer of the update wnt cost too much. so i want to try to update using my phone only , wil it work? and has any1 here tried it? pls tel me how it went and if now doesn't restart constantly.

Every time i use the handset to check for updates it says I´m using the latest version. But when connecting to SEUS there are updates available.
I don't trust the update in the handset any longer.

both have their shares of problems, so it boils down to wat fone ur looking for. slim and fun walkman? still depends on ur preference anyway. but the only thing that u cant control is luck - you may get a good set or a bad one, and warranty might or might not cover it.

Shud the updates be done in order? To stop the restarting prob must u start with the first updates or go straight to the latest R1FA035 and wil it cure all major probs with the w910i ?

You can go forward to the latest firmware. Doing 1 update, wipes everything that was in the phone before so previous updates become useless... THey are not updates like windows for e.g. to be installed over the firmware. Updates include changing the whole firmware which makes the previous ones useless.
