Hi, I have had my XZP replaced already! After dipping in dessert sands, took to swim in the pacific, then bringing it Jaccuzzi, the device failed on me. It started vibrating like mad, and nothing can stop it. After washing the device with tap water, the vibration finally stopped. But then, another problem occurs. When the camera started for over 10 seconds, a mist started building up in the camera, and everything becomes blurred.

Took to the service centre for repair, after 6 hours, they gave me a new phone, saying that they would like to return the device to their office for further investigation.

Lol... You do realize that no phone would survive that abuse, right?

Actually an IP68 certified phone should take these actions with no problem.

The XZ Premium is only freshwater safe so swimming in the ocean would invalidate any warranty so to get a replacement is very lucky. They could have not bothered replacing the phone if they knew that.

yes the IP68 certification is for fresh water. It is not for salt water. The manual expressly says salt water exposure is bad and should be avoided. Not to mention lots of sand and hot jacuzzi water for who knows how long. the salt probably did some damage for sure and the hot temps of jacuzzi water probably didn't help either.

I killed my first Z3 in Negril via the salt water route. Luckily I dried it thoroughly and was able to get it warranty replaced

I know, I had been using my phone in hell, but I bought the phone so that I can use it, not to protect it

Anyway, salt water was not the major killer of the phone. I took my z5p to Spa last time (iceland blue lagoon thingy), and connector was oxidized. Had to scrub the minerals off the USB port before I can charge it.
