@sanj,
Why don't you buy a DiGi Beyond Prepaid and see if it suits your needs or not? Its only RM38 ma.
I'm using both and I can really see the improvement over the years for DiGi (been using it since 1999). Maxis is getting more and more expensive for me to use (eg RM 0.50 for an international SMS - Crazee man!) So for in'tl SMSs I use my DiGi, only RM 0.20 (prepaid charges RM 0.20 per SMS). Save a lot man....

I am curently paying 20 cents per sms too. The real cost saving comes when / if my dad gets a post paid line and me and my mom get subsidary lines, it will be 15 cents per sms and also a 35% discount on all calls between these three lines ! This way, i can sms and make more calls per month ! I am an SMS freak, i sms waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than i make calls... plus the good thing about them is no monthly subscription fees for GPRS and MMS ... Unlike Celcom which charges a RM 10 fee for GPRS, regardless of ussage ! Daylight roberry!
Anyway, yeah, i was thinking about getting a DiGi prepaid even just for GPRS ussage ! Anyway, i always tot it was RM 60 for the starter pack ? 7-Eleven has it right ? Also, what is the maximum ammount of time before i have to top it up ? and what are the increaments like ? Thanks Waja

Yeah 7-11 sells them too. But beware of some places whereby they sell it to you for >RM 38. Don't buy from them as there are a lot of places selling at RM 38.
Top-Up goes like this:
RM 30 --> 30 days
RM 50 --> 50 days
RM 100 --> 100 days
Using DiGi for GPRS is cool as they have cheaper rates as compared to maxis. But beware of excessive usage and they'll send you a notification asking you to top-up.

OK, say i buy one for RM 38, then how much of that can i initially use in airtime?
Second, say i buy a RM 30 top up, then when 30 days has passed since i activted the top up, and i dont add on, woot's gonna happen ?
Third, if i have baki from the previous mont, izzit carried forward when i top up ?
I'm blur because i have never used prepaid before, postpaid all the way
Ps: Thanks for the warning of the over charging part

A starter pack comes with RM 20 credit in it. I think that can be used for 30 days before you are required to top up (sorry it was a long time since I activated the starter pack).
Say 30 days has passed since you last topped up, DiGi gives you another 30 days to top up. If not you forgo all the credit in it. In the meantime, you can only receive calls but cannot make calls (including SMS and GPRS).
Credit is always carried forward when you top up. So no worries of forgoing your credit (unless you don't top up after 30 days

)
