Perhaps true, but some people (myself included) do not own a standalone digital camera and rely on my phone exclusively for picture-taking. Though as I said, I do not take pictures often.

Thats the first I had heard about touchfocus on Shiho - it will be confirmed or not soon enough no doubt.

Regarding 'Paris' I think it is worth contender for its segment but just that. I'm viewing it as a beefed up P1i rather than a mighty good allrounder so I am not expecing fantastic imaging features.

There are several Xperia X1 pictures released that looks great and if 'Paris' takes snaps anything like that then its certainly good enough for most I think.

Me too. I don't know if I believe it or not, but I guess it would make sense--if Shiho is the Cyber-Shot flagship (which it is) and touchfocus is the newest push (which I suppose it is) that may be evidence for it to be included. Dunno, though. It would be nice.

ETA: AND m-one (I think it was him) said Shiho has a similar formfactor to the Prada, which is touchscreen. Hmmm...

Manual focus is stil better IMHO, touch-focus is more of a marketing thing (it's still a good upgrade to the sometimes painful a/f though)

Well, yeah, I'm not really jazzed about touchfocus as much as I'm jazzed about the remote possibility the phone may be touchscreen.

I never heard of Shiho as a touchscreen device, and shiho is not UIQ as it will use A250 ( OSE A200 update )

I don't see a point of having touchscreen only for touch focus, maybe that rumour got to the fact that Shiho will be some how similar to Viewty like said above...

having a touchscreen layer will decrese the contrast/brightiness of the display and this is not good for flag ship imaging device specially if that touchscreen only meant to be used as touchscreen !!

Hope this a250 will be better than the a200 when it came out in the k850 LATE and UNSTABLE.

well, to be a step up from the K850 it would have to have TS in my opinion.
1 because of touch focus
2 because of the touch buttons on the K850 (what other improvement to that is there? I know ppl who think K850 is touchscreen cus of that lol).
Still, keep in mind that for someone really interested in imaging, touch focus sounds almost childish. Its not better than auto focus, its not really that much more practical, its basically a gimmick.

The Cyber-shot range is the only one left not to have had a touch screen incorporated into any of its devices so I think its long over due.

Nah, Shiho is just a slider with a big screen. No touchscreen. It will, however, feature a focus point grid (a la C702, C902).
