You chaps have a good time - I, on the other hand, am in 'darkenes' (again). For the 17-th day this year, Jeffreys Bay is for more then 12 hours at a time without electricity. The Mayor is pathetic indeed. I swear next time he desperately calls the police to help him (the locals have a bad habit of wanting to burn his house down) my only police vehicle attending to complains, will have a puncture. If the politicians can't sort him out, the people who voted him in will get him 'out'. I strongly believe in the 'jungle law'. After all we are in africa and that law seems to be the only one which works every time, all the time. Greetings from a 'blacked out' Jeffreys Bay :-(

@Wanqa, yebo madoda, that's so true, tis an illness which lingers and never really goes away, lol!
@Mario, you guys are really getting the short end of the stick with the electricity situation! I recall that a commentator on the radio mentioned something about it the other day, to the extent that the situation is liable to get worse until the mayor and his crew lift themselves up and make arrangements with one of the bigger municipalities to provide additional power when needed... One of the callers also said much the same thing, about the police having to save his butt time upon time from the crowd, usually after his haughty and abrupt replies to their questions. He'd best get his act together, if one considers what happened to Komga's mayor's house not too long ago...

the people should not serve the politicians, the politicians should be serving the people. driving a beamer comes at a cost if you had to use marketers to sell you. politicians seem to get away with a lot, but at some point it will smack them in the ass.
sitting outside, the guys playing need for speed on the laptop, after us watching the latest smallville(which we download as they show in usa)

So how was the fireworks all? Did not even hear a cracker go off where I was last night, which was strange. Normally the neighboring scummy area has so many illegal bum displays of fireworks...missed it! Gotta wait for new-years. Last new years me and my girlfriend went up the magaliesberg overlooking the area where I live. WOW! The fireworks were incredibly beautiful!
So this new-years if all goes well I will be in Cape Town to visit my girlfriend. Transport might be an issue though. That sucks.

We went round to friends of ours, who had collected a range of fireworks over the past month or so, and I had a go at trying to capture the fireworks at different stages with the cellphone's camera.
Extremely hit-and-miss, amplified by the lengthier night-shot exposure times on the Nokia 3230 in particular.

lol! I am not bothered about if they do or don't, but thanks to certain people in our thread, when the police car gets that flat, certain houses might seem to catch fire...same thing with communities that take down a criminal. how many rapists have been burned and killed by communities? P!$$ them off enough, and they will do anything...Seems some people in charge really do a good job ticking off the masses. But I am indifferent. I watch the world, and I find it all amusing.
Ps. Psycho, how is it going with the exams and studies?
