Just installed new PCSuite (1.3.19). I installed over 1.3.11 which I had, it just asked me if I wanted to update and I said yes.
First impressions:
Visually the same, however USB file browsing now works, it never worked for me before.
I did Contact+Calendar+Notes backup.
Under Help-> About, the version number is not displayed and voice feedback is gone.
I guess we'll know if the backup/restore module works properly after the fw update

Update program can now connect to SEUS and it tells me there is a fw upgrade available for WG1. I don't know if it is true or not. I can't do the update now but I'll try tonight. Unless of course some brave soul tries first

I went thru the whole upgrade process, just to find out I got the old R5A firmware.

Yeah, as expected. Over at the developer forum ares was trying to tell the only two SE guys that communicate with us about this problem. I hope they got the message. It certainly looked like they had no idea that such a problem existed. I wonder if any of these guys use SE phones at all

Right now SEUS is getting updated, instead of "the application was unable to connect to the server" .....fingers crossed.....

ares be consistent man, you said before that R6 is same as P1. now you're tellin that "maybe" in august they will release this kind of firmware. are you a insider of SE or just making speculate here then tell people blah, blah and blah???

How could ares have said R6 is the same as P1? P1 is NOT R6 to begin with. What was said is that when P1 is released P990 will get the same fw update. It remains to be seen when all Symbian phones (including P1) will get R6. At my-symbian ajack has clearly stated that R6 is not yet ready for distribution to commercial phones.
As I remember, it was said that a new update is expected to be released around now. It was speculated as to whether it would be R6. From what I've been able to observe, we will most likely get another R5 update with R6 possibly coming in August or September 2007.

Even more odd.... when SEUS started detection, it said "detection failed". I tried it once again and it got further, up to the point of saying to update the phone. Then it would go no furhter, showing a message, "Update failed" almost immediately.
