I was hoping for the same since I'm not happy with the image quality on my W995
SE should just use a large (physical dimension) 3.2 MP EXMOR sensor in a phone and market it as an alternative to some of the small digital cameras with ridiculously high megapixels.

Nice and quiet around here
New Walkmans for a possible Summer announcement. I'm hoping for high end stuff to replace the W995 but it seems this and Cybershot high ends are gone. Walkman = quality music. Cybershot = quality imaging. Entertainment Unlimited = recalls and failure. It's like Ashley Cole pimping when he's got/had Cheryl waiting for him at home. Walkmans were always the coolest and best looking phones, why not resurrect these brands at the top level?
i agree. why not resurrect Walkman and Cybershot phones? I, for one, is craving for a highend walkman phone. My W980 has been destroyed due to the floods here in the Philippines. I'm missing the clear bass/stereo technology. Plus, it has to have a 3.5mm headphone jack. And touchscreen would be a welcome feature.

I agree! Stop giving us more megapixels and give us better sensors/optics with less pixels.

how can you save cost if all you get are recalls? you are putting the brand in a lose-all situation

Thanks for updated info.
I assumed SE highend WM7 since they're Microsoft hardware partners...
Prom1
You forgot to mention also Aspen = touchscreen too.
So it's 8 TS devices.
Compare it to P1/W960 times... Just 2.

EU phones lack the Walkman settings, the cameras are nothing special either. Aino has excellent music while Satio has a good camera. Cybershots should have all the settings that you get on the X10, Satio has whack music so why not make it a Cybershot rather than pretend its a Walkman without a 3.5mm jack? iPhone is the ultimate iPod with fantastic music quality so people don't mind an average camera. I would wait for Walkman announcements because they were always so good in terms of music quality and also the bold and bright designs for young people. How many times I have said to myself, 'I wonder if there is a Walkman version for this?', those were the days.

Last year I was banging on about HTC with Tegra and 1.5Ghz processing but it is set for later this year due to WP7 delays. I was expecting this hardware at MWC but Microsoft has changed everything. I would expect this stuff on the HD3 now. I was also expecting phones like the HTC Trophy at MWC. It could be the case that the hardware needs updating since the shelf life of these phones have suddenly been reduced, who knows?
In terms of

and its phone, it must have a capacitive screen, dedicated graphics chip, GPS and a few other things, I'm sure you can already picture this phone. Even if it only has 1Ghz instead of 1.5Ghz, WP7 will be slick since Microsoft won't allow poor hardware. I've seen WP7 on HD2 and its electric. It won't be obsolete like the X2 and won't struggle on any process.

Funny enough the hardware IS ready! NVidia does NOT dissappoint and their still on their own, not bought out like ATi have been.
Also note that Audi is using this Tegra2 platform in ALL new vehicle models this year including the new S4/S6/S8/A8. It's an 8-core SMP Cortex A9 cpu and it already has next generation mobile graphics.
I recall you stating this back in October 2009 (?) and I didn't believe you at ALL! I'm sure glad you where right.
Its Microsoft that is holding SE back ... and I fear with the limitations on design UI there is not much worth of investment for differentiation that

should invest in.

Thanks. Great info. Interesting if SE will stick to qwerty too, a must thing.....
@Prom1
Well, I still don't really think that Microsoft will completely abandon any customization to UI.
I may be wrong but we'll see...
Basically I don't like Android too much so I don't consider this anyway.
WM - I assume - will still have the fulliest package.

I want to draw

attention for a serious point
at least 20% of world population are muslims , they need to know the direction of "Qibla" to do thier pray
I use a pocket compass when I travel to Europe in holidays or business trips to help me showing the right direction when I in my hotelroom
so I think

should put digital compass in high ends at least
There is a nice developed application for that purpose in NOKIA N97 , but I don't know for how long I'd stay loyal to
