If lower investment and lower sales mean no xperia m2,m2 aqua,e3,t3,t2 ultra,c3,e1 then so be it.Xperia z1 compact,z2,z3 compact and z3 were the only worthy devices last year from sony.Still,I believe Sony had a bad management last year and made a lot of mistakes(two identical flagships last year, with little to no differentiation),mid-range devices that costed a lot at launch(xperia t2 ultra-399eur,xperia m2 aqua-269eur).I really wish though that we see a super team-up between Sony and Nokia!!!That would be awesome(though not really possible).

They should only make premium phones. Decrease volume and increase your profit margin. Flagship, compact, phablet and a tablet. No more. They could make an alliance with a software company. So they wouldn't lose their fans and have much more features softwarewise. Just thinking

do you think google can become sony's good friend

I think Nokia is a good choice for partnership. Leave the UI and imaging algorithms to those guys. Even hardware design can be mutual. Nokia has money so it is not so illogical.

The best and most logical choice for a cooperation would be Ericsson and thus it would be the rise of Sony Ericsson after three years!

A better camera algorithim and proper marketing is only SONY's weakness right now. Hope they fix both.

I wonder How is a JV with Ericsson going to help them?
A JV with NOKIA would be epic

According to The Wall Street Journal, Kazuo Hirai, chief executive of Sony, said that with regard to a potential sale of the Mobile and TV units, โ€œI think we have to keep these possibilities in mindโ€.

A joint venture with Ericsson would help them because they had been partners for 11 years and there is still a lot of Ericsson DNA in Sony products. Just take a look at the name of some system files in Sony's Android. There is still know-how, expertise and some of the same people still working for Sony.

It would be easy to continue this partnership. Heck, even the Software team is still in Sweden or parts of it.

Also, back with Sony Ericsson they had their height and sold the most phones (Cybershot, Walkman series).

It is easier and faster to go back to an old partner than to work with someone completly new.

There's not benefit for Ericsson to make another JV with Sony. They're making profit and their sales are really good. They have found their field,so there's no reason returning.Actually, they would risk losing money and would make Sony look super dump in the process.(Paid them out in 2011,lost billions and created a JV again). If they were to create a JV they would do it with a company that has a mobile department and it's not their main business like Acer,Asus,LG,Huawei,ZTE.
