Guess there's not that much of a visible or a noticable difference for 0.2 inches - maybe though for 0.4 inches or greater.

It's Ironic that Honami must be "large" to be considered premium/high-class, when in Digital Cameras such as DSC-RX1 it's small size stands as an engineering marvel and a pride for the maker.

You don't type, game, view movies, read websites etc on a Digital Cameras do you. The only + a smartphone has when it's small in size is it's easier to fit in your pocket and hold in one hand... In every other case it is a huge disadvantage.

Honami is not your average mass market device, it's a device to serve as crown jewel of Sony Engineering, RX1 was not designed for pro photographers who are accustomed to Big Grips, Large OVFs, Kilograms of weight, and massive lenses yet it's hailed as a premium device. my point is that if Sony is serious in obtaining everyone's awe, then they should do what Sharp did with their 900+ PPI display, instead of going with the flow and releasing a smartphone with a display half the size of a laptop monitor

Slightlty off topic, but then I'm most definitely not the only who who occasionally posts OT stuff here... plus there has been a lack of any new concrete rumours lately.
o2-UK should apparently be launching 4G across the UK in about June time:

4G combined with the Honami should be awesome!

What flow!? 4.8'!? I don't think 0.2' will make much of a difference. A small bezel approach like the ZL is best as long as it doesn't hurt the device in other aspects such as battery capacity. But there always will be a trade-off and it is hard to minimize it. Point is when you buy a high end smartphone, for which there is no higher level of product, you expect the least of compromises... The RX1 has higher counter parts, but it is consider premium in its own class. If you where to compare it to a different class, like that of professional cameras, it would be considered trash...

I wasn't comparing stuffs in the pretext of specs/features, I was pointing out that if Sony wants to ring some bells aloud, they should think about working on this for engineering pride, which honami should be aimed in the first place.
would you get honami that has everything including a kitchen sink but weighs like a brick and looks like an undersized lcd tv or would you rather not have everything but in return you get something so unique its competitors would hardly offer you the same?

@razec U r right...4.8" shouldnt be a problem. It should be the best display...Thats all...If someone want a oversized phone, then they should consider the phablet...
I dont agree with RX1 being a trash compared to other pro cameras...Its the best in its class...

But as we have learned, with Samsung as a prime example, for most people design and build quality take the back seat unfortunately.
The ZL which has the same specs as the Z for example is thicker. The RX1 has problems that came as a trade off due to its size and it is very expensive. And the RX1 is in a class of its own but still bellow that of high end professional cameras. Point is if you like your smartphones to be smaller don't expect to get the same specs as other larger devices and don't expect it to be considered truly high-end. Unless you're willing to possibly pay double of what a normal high end smartphone costs and can find millions of other that would do the same I don't think you should expect to see such a device anytime soon and especially from Sony the way they are now...

Anyone still remember this baby?
I think Sony should do a remake and bring back these cool stuffs, I remember playing with one of this using my t68i as the remote while people could hardly figure out who controls the car!
On the other hand, my (prized) favorite accessory would be always be this
^^ think about the possibility of using something like with any current Xperia smartphone, that'd be sweet
