without my smartphone for a year? I'd have to change my lifestyle totally. Not impossible, but will certainly take some adjusting to.

@easydee: Yes; celtel gprs is limited to some cities, outside of which you are on your own.

amby, how are you coping with the M600 keypad? I'm considering the P1 with similar keypad. The virtual keypad of the W950 is too small while the flushed keypad is very temperamental...it drives me crazy sometimes.
AYA, can I have a feel of your of P990? The Keypad maybe be better. I'll pick it from your wife in the morning and return it before 4pm same day?

@Brym: If you remember, the keypad was the main grouse I had with the M600i initially, but after getting used to the handwriting recognition feature, I rarely use the virtual nor physical keypad

I sold my E61i way back in November when Reltel offered a Treo 700p for N20,000. It was a rare opportunity to own and use a Palm (I'm on the lookout for WM offer too).
While I had the 700p, I fell in love with touchscreen again. The combination with a QWERTY keyboard was heaven. Shortly thereafter, someone literally begged me to sell him the 700p, and I did.
The P990i is currently the most value for money device on the market. For N39,500, I got a brand new device with the last but one firmware, and it was very stable. Still, I updated the firmware to the latest. No shutdowns. Very stable.
In addition, the small keys are very usable, even with my huge thumbs.
I am quite satisfied that I spent my money well.
@brym!: Give me a call or send SMS if you are serious about having a feel. That may not be this week though. I paid Starcomms to renew my internet subscription last week Monday, but till today they have not. I understand there are subscribers who have been waiting for activation for over 30 days! Anyway, that means that for now, the P990 is my primary connected computing device.
I'm typing this on it.
