As far as I'm aware, I don't think there's technology available that would allow a flapless water resistance to the level of Z and ZR. They have companies that will take apart your device and coat the parts with a protective coating, but that only protects for accidental spills, submerging.. etc. and doesn't let you USE the device. you still have to let it dry before using it.

i too am excited to see what honami looks like!

I know that it wouldn't be able to use at least the USB, neither headphones (unless they ship them with high quality waterproof headphones also), but at least it would be flapless. That's the idea. Though I think with flaps, except for the small anoyance of opening it everything you gonna use it, it makes the whole design more clean..

And when I asked how it looked like, I asked for pics. But you said it is just a product that adds protection to it, so there isn't any huge differences between it and a normal USB/headphones jack, does it?

I think Sony is doing an awesome move making like half of their phones water resistante/proof. IP57 is good, but IP58 would be even better.

I thought that the Honami was going to release either right at the very end of September/right at the very beginning of October? So is what you're saying instead information which is XR4?

Rumored specs for the "rugged" Samsung Galaxy S4 reveal a different processor under the hood

This is part of the reason why AT&T will not offer the Z or i1 this year. Samsung underbid Sony with a water/dust proof S4.

I wasn't referring to honami. The product I was referring to is a 3rd party who will take your device/phone and add a protection coating to it, which will keep it from being destroyed if its gets wet. it does NOT make the phone water proof and even with the coating, your phone is un-usable in water and after it has gotten wet, until it is completely dry.

MSM8960? iPA think that's quad core and comparable to s600. They are still as stupid as I can remember. Seems like Samsung are yet to figure out the art of a waterproof phone which doesn't melt with a relatively small amount if heat, or have they? Last time I checked, a 1.5gHz MSM8960 would get pretty hot, at 1.9gHz, there will be a LOT of throttling.

No wonder they underbid Sony. The s4 active is a mid-ender.

EDIT: This post is wrong thanks to iPA being even more wrong than I thought. See randomuser's post for clarification on the next page.

Yes, 2930 = 3000. Sony uses the minimum capacity in specs and not typical. 2930 is minimum/3000 typical.

Sony doesn't seem to be very smart if they're using the minimum number while everyone else uses the typical number. lol
