It went swimmingly, guys. The programme is to be implemented at 14 pilot schools, and rolled out from there. Maybe it provides some solution to this problem, at local level for now, hopefully on a larger scale in the foreseeable future.

Essentially it's about training kids to use mediation skills to settle arguments, differences. They're taught techniques to handle conflict in various situations, like school, home environment, etc. The programme was initially rolled out at a school in Hanover Park in Cape Town, was so successful that GM bought into it, and are giving it a shot here. I've seen so many positive results thus far with my own classes, would be a shame not to spread it to as many schools as possible.
@Brix, you're right, boet, far better to err on the side of caution

@ Kryptik, just proof once again that adults are not teaching their kids what they should be at home. Gone are the days of school being a place of getting skills to be able to get a job one day, now schools are supposed to teach basic life skills. But that is good Kryptik. It is not supposed to be teachers jobs, but once again another reason why i think teachers are getting severely underpaid.
I believe in the power of home schooling. Hope i would be able to do that with my kids one day, between my wife and me. The house where our company used to be had two kids(the directors), about 8 and 11.they spend like 2 hours a day doing schoolwork, the rest on better things. My word, those kids do stuff i never did and never will do, and are way beyond their years.
Just a final thought on the subject-Hitlers first move when he came to power was to abolish home schooling...rather funny that all the world seems so turned against it...

Lets see if this works...
The clouds this morning...very nice! Was about 7:35am.
Same as previous, with a bit of sun.
A cute doggie that I photographed last weekend...I don't like dogs, but this one was adorable!
My favorite girl to photograph...and she always poses! This shot of her does not look like her, and is the most decent picture, the others being rather....um...more sexy...
And something almost as beautiful, certainly more breathtaking...Last Fridays Sunset here in PTA.
So, what you guys think?
