@_LAU_, streaming is not the issue i was talking about. but thanks for the link anyways. I was wondering whether anyone has played self encoded movies to play at 30fps? Just wondering what the quality and performance is really like!

Peter, the title of your post says "Streaming" so I figured you were talking about broadcasting video.
Regarding your new question, are you asking in the current P series or the new phones?
The new phones have hardware decoders, this means the software can decode video realtime without much effort from the player application.
I believe it will have a smooth playback, depending on the load of the applications running in the background.

What I'm worried about is no mention of the Flash Lite as part of the OS yet the new M600 & the Walkman K950 both have it ?~~!!!
Either SE needs to update the P990 or make sure it has FLash Lite!
This to is my main concern with the P99Oi. SE have not said if the "fully functionable" web browser can handle flash, or if Opera 8 can handle it. Other phone models have the macromedia flash lite. (sorry cant enter more text on my PSP, no flash either)

Does P990i Wifi allow network filesharing? Will there be a progame to edit videos on the phone like videoDJ?

Quote:Birdstep has created a hosted roaming service allowing P990 users to enjoy seamless mobile connectivity across Wireless LAN and GSM/GPRS/UMTS networks, independent of operator or subscription type. The SmartRoaming Client ensures secure and automatic network identification, user authentication and continuous network connection without application downtime or the user needing to know what network is available, how to connect or worrying about security risks. Through setting SmartRoaming profiles the enterprise or individual user can define network preferences based on policies that make sense for work efficiency and cost management.
This is something I'm looking forward to with the P990i that the W950i/M600 will NOT be able to do. UMA support is there, very sly of SE not to just call it that.
SE is looking so much more appealing.

Would it be possible to install the Walkman software from the W950 onto the P990?

Today the device got back to the owner. I had the P990i for 1.5 week. I made some vids and pics of the new menu. The vids contain the media player, menu, camera and videocamera. The pics are gonna be used in my own preview.
If you have any questions please let me know.
MR
Finally had time to look through the vids, excellent MR, made me want one even more!
The UIQ 3 looks amazing, so rich and vibrant and by the looks of it very easy to use...
Interesting to see the different ways one can navigate, and the vids make me think it'll be alright with the new 3 way jog dial...
Def gonna be my next purchase, been getting by with a K750i since my p900 died but this is def the next purchase....

MR, Why are all the pics so incredibly blurry? Is the camera lens dirty or something? Or is the phone having difficulty with focusing? I thought that the cam was supposed to be the same as (or better than) in K750..
Also, what an "interresting" taste of music... hehe
