In my opinion, the pics are not so bad, i think they're not so focused 'cause you took pic of a "Tree" .. Would it be sharper if you take pics of a "Building" or something more detailed and further ?? And we could see if it's really bad as you said ...

digital zoom really makes a mess with photos, and wonder why the
manufactures keep touting it its the holy grail or something, now optical zoom is what gets my blood pumping, since that's what really matters, i think in due time when nanotechnology becomes mainstream or maybe some other tech that will enable one to make minute motors small and powerful to fit and shift a lens set on a camphone using an internal zoom structure, that way no protruding lens barrel also to back it up you, have variable aperture sensor which adjusts automatically according to the light falling on it also the ambient light.mark my words becasue this will happen somewhere down the line maybe in the next decade.

i'm curently working on improving night mode pictures. I've menaged to make them lighter and with less noise but i'm having trouble with the shutter speed and the saving time. i guess i'll post an updated driver soon. Also i'm trying to implement smart zooming(if i manage to do this the 4x and 8x zoom pictures will be a lot better)

I think you might have some problems there with the night shots, night time the cameras tend to use a slower shutter speed and need a bigger aperture.
But then experimentation is the key to success. good luck then.

I got a k750, modded to w800 w/ a standard v4.5 cam driver. In night mode the output of the shot is a lot like sephia but if i keep the lens cover open a little like 5 secs or more w/o taking pics, the colors begin to fade into a greyish tone, which i don't like. Has anyone noticed smt like that b4?

Totally disappointed with aksd's camdriver 2.72.
Running on R1N firmware, camera stops if you try to take a picture with Night Mode and/or light on. I could not take a single picture.
Without night mode and light, most pictures are either overexposed or underexposed. There are no details in the bright and the dark areas. The focus and shutter speeds are too slow and even if you do try to hold still, the pictures appear blurred.
I couldn't believe how awful the pictures were, compared to those you have posted in this topic. Maybe it is because of the firmware? I'll test 10.01 to see if it works better.
Take a look at this:

first of all, your firmware should be upgrade to the current latest R1CA021.. and about the 2.72 camdriver.. i dont think its that bad quality though..
