Yeah what a pity. 57 pages and lots of bickering. Blame it on few Nub Cakes distracting people from finding real info

Anyone know what happen to the walkie talkie of patented Xperia function?

@plankgatan

I suggest you read this thread where it was SE UIQ fans that were so happy to point out all the shortcomings of WM devices not Nokia fans as you like to try and point out and can be found here.

http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=160084&start=0

The only person whose position has remained constant is Boinng and a few others the rest of the SE fans all appear to be a bunch of Hypocrites as usual if it's not SE it's rubbish or not needed but as soon as it appears with an SE badge it's the best thing ever, it's just so funny to watch it's unbelievable just how transparent some SE fans are.

@all

First we have to actually see what SE mange to deliver as opposed to what they promise as that has a nasty habit of not being the same thing. The other thing is this devcies is so far off we need to see what it will be up against by the time it actually reaches the market.

As if anyone believes no other manufacturers will have new devcies coming in the next 8-9 months they are not facing up to reality. so how ever good the X1 is who knows what the competition will come up with by then. Toshiba are alreday launching two new devcies expected next month and i would imagine again new devcies by the time the X1 arrives not forgetting what HTC and all the other far more experienced WM Manufacturers will also come up with it isn't all going to be left to the X1 in that time frame you can count on that and that's just the WM competition not even counting Symbian the market leaders either.

Also sorry but this belief some of you have that SE are just the best company that always produce the best devices with the best spec' and UI is just not backed up by the sales figures is it. Which is why SE is still only fourth with less than 10% market share and surely if they were just so brilliant and there devcies so great they would of increased far more by now shouldn't they?

not all of us are saying these are necessatily the best devices. We are just saying we like 'em. You and many others seem to be saying that if something isn't the BEST in a category then it's pants. Personally I don't care tha much if SE is the BEST or not on a technical sliding scale of gadgetry. It's more about formfactor, UI and overall design for some of us.

For example it's true that there are many HTC's tha offer reasonable competition to X1 (that are already available) however I find the X1 much more appealing than any Windows Mobile to date. This is to do with general styling, slightly improved design of the horizontal slide formfactor, an undoubtedly better camera than 90% of HTC's out there (not better specs, but better actual quality - for example my HP has a 1.3MP camera but it's far worse than my K700 VGA in picture quality), finger touchscreen which even by the X1 release will still be rare (even if Nokia touch beats X1 to market), UI layout and design.

These are things that aren't classed in "better or worse" they are just things that are different for each person. Those of us here who like the X1, and the G series are ecstatic because SE has responded to market pressure to innovate, not with the inclusion of the latest and greatest high tech specifications (aka N95), but in terms that involve finesse and style.

Maybe you don't agree with SE sense of style, but that's alright. Many of us however like SE Styling, not because we are "blind fanboys" but just because we like it (sense of style is personal and there is no right or wrong) and to see that style extended to the WM platform is really exciting.

(style includes UI design, ergonomics philosophy, formfactor and styling cues unique to SE)

@Marc
You are so very bitter, have you read your posts lately? Calm down a bit and enjoy what you have. So what if the X1 is outdated by the time it comes out? If people are content, so be it why do you have to spoil it for them. You can't change people's choices or what they want to believe, be rest assured there will always be hypocrites in any forum that supports their product of choice. I'm not happy with everything that's been announced, but it's a time to rejoice, SE has been behind for so long and at least, they have almost caught up or are at par with the rest at the time being. They are on the verge of revolutionizing touchscreen by incorporating it to the midrange candybars and who knows, at entry level one day. I'm concerned about 8 months down the line too but lighten up because it's just not worth the nose bleed to get too worked up on something that hasn't happened

Lets just hope its not slow like HTC Wizard, tytn etc etc. Answering a call can take up to 10 seconds if I run low on ram. Same with disconnecting a call which has sometimes taken up to 15 seconds.
I love my HTC phones, but I want it to work fast and actually use the hardware properly.
Xperia X1 looks like it can compete with HTC on Windows Mobile market. We will see when it arrives and we install 3-6 SPB products on it etc.
