my 10 month old w580 doesn't squeak at all.

Granted, 8 of it's keys are split in half and I'm sending it to SE tommorow to repair the broken LCD screen, but there is DEFINITELY no squeaking, none at all.

The design is one of the strong points and with the improved UI it will be a breeze to use.

Can't wait.

As long as the construction holds and doesn't squeek, I don't mind. All though I'd love to see a candy bar version aswell- maybe with optical zoom.

hhhmmm. HAVE YOU EVER tried a slider (after some weeks/months using) there the phone dosent squeek ???? (if so, which one)

njaaa, sliders suxs compared to candybars in buildquality, they allways ends up squeeking

Yep, my W910i is about 4-5 months old and it doesn't squeak and shows no signs of starting to. Also, its build quality has always been as excellent as the day I got it!

That's SOOO not true at all, just your opinion. K850i has pretty poor build quality remember. I had one for 3 days and sent it back. It creaked from the moment it came out the box, as does my K810i. The battery cover creaks like crazy.
I have a W850i that doesn't squeak. That's about 18 months old. I've had Samsung D500's and D600's for many months at a time and they never squeaked, creaked whatever.

plank you're so full of crap. i mean for a guy who has a almost 7 year daughter i would have thought you'd use your mind just a little bit.

Plank, you speak about squeak and building quality of slider phones, but have you ever got one? I have had D600, D900 and now the Secret and i haven’t had no squeak or other problems. The K850 battery cover creaks, like marty have said. With a good quality the slider phone is better, smaller size and bigger display.
What you say is not the Gospel.

My thoughts exactly. I LOVE slider phones! They are much more compact and generally, tend to look a lot better than candybars.
