Normaly when this happens, it is down to SE updating there software update on the server.

Orange havnt blocked any updates so just hang tight

Hi, I'm in Venezuela and I've got a K700i, I've tried several times to update its firmware from R2AE0033 to the latest (the one SEUS downloaded to C:\Archivos de programa\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\software-data was indeed R2AY004) but I haven't been able to do it, every time it's about to start I get the error message "Error communicating with the device" and shuts the whole thing off, and then tells me to remove and reinsert the battery. I hit start over and do it again and get the same message. Has this happened to anyone?
I know it makes no difference but I've tried in SEUS Venezuela, SEUS UK and SEUS Spain.

I forgot to say, I already tried uninstalling and re-installing both the SEUS software and the DSS-25 drivers. Which by the way I've never known what the difference is between the ones that are available (P900/P908 and P910 drivers). I ended up keeping P910 drivers, but DSS-25 works on both with FMA

I had a few months ago the same problem. The solution was for me : master reset before update via SEUS. After that it worked like a charm. Hope this helps ..

Already tried that, didn't work either. Thanks a lot though, I guess I'll just keep trying

Just updated firmware to R2AY004 via SEUS, unbranded K700i, Serbia, Mobtel Operator

Not just one visible change but it's working flawlessly as ever

yeah, i also have the same problem as pedrojec, but earlier today, i just upgraded an unbranded k500i with firmware R2AA to R2AE033... no problems whatsoever with that upgrade, only with the k700i upgrade. good news is that, the phone is still operational after the error message appeared...
