Anyone experiancing serious battery drainage with the phone? I girlfriend got the P990i a week ago...its a brand new P990i with the current firmware...the phone wont even last to 5pm without the phone battery dying...phone not used that much, couple hours of calls, a bit of texts, no web browsing, no wifi, push email deativated...phone charged every day...my p990 does not act like that at all...tried to do a master reset, but it did not help, changed the battery and the charger and still no difference....

try dimming the screen brightness, it will help make the battery last longer.

also, set backlight power save to auto & check that nothing in her handbag is pressing against the button of the P990

In my friend's case I've installed swissmanager for him, set the brightness to around 60%, power saving is on auto and he doesn't carry a purse.

I've tried searching all the posts on this site and so far haven't seen any posts about this problem. I received my phone a few days ago (P990i - unbranded) and have spent a lot of time playing around with it and customizing it to my liking. As I recall, the camera worked fine until I ran the SE update service on my phone. Whenever I go to the camera feature now, the camera image is upside down. All the icons and lettering on the screen is right side up, so I'm not sure what is wrong. Even when I rotate the screen, the image is still upside down. Please help me if you can! Thanks!

@kkily

Since nothing is wrong with camera itself I suppose you should do the software reinstalation. In the Firmware thread Jah wrote:

"My P990 did not work after the first false upgrade, it just flashed the screen on/off then after I deleted the firmware files from my laptop I tried again and the whole process went okay and the P990 is restored."

So don't worry.

the battery should be able to last 1-1.5 days on full charge. try dimming to not more than 30% when indoor.

swissmanager got nothing to do with power consumption

Here's another solution to avoid battery drain.

If you don't use the 3G functionality of your phone that much, just use the GSM account. Since 3G can often be down or not available, the phone tends to search for an available signal, causing faster drain of the battery.

Once I shifted to GSM, my battery started lasting longer. I just shift to the 3G account when I need to do a video call.

Hope this helps...
