hi all, just to report another victim of the dust-behind-screen flaw: my G900.

Two pretty obvious grains of dust appeared below the screen yesterday. I managed to literally kick one out of the way by giving sharp hits on the side of the phone with my fingernails so it would slide out of the LCD surface, but one remains there. It makes it look like there is a faulty pixel, very very annoying and completely unacceptable in terms of build quality!

After one week dust gets inside the phone, how can it be?

On the same note of poor build quality: I noticed that it's actually possible to insert a sheet of paper into the gap between the screen and the area with the D-pad and buttons. That says a lot about the phone's ability to keep dust out !

I truly miss the build quality of my K750i ! I love the G900 but this whole dust thing is completely breaking it for me. Thinking of replacing it (but then, the same problem will probably happen again) or choosing a different brand altogether...

Got my G900 form play.com last week and finally getting to grips with it (despite a few little glitches). Thankfully don't seem to be suffering from any dust problems.

One question for the more experianced users.
How can I save a picture on the phone as a 'picture' rather than a 'photo'?
I transfered a whole load of images across from my PC and some are showing in the media viewer as photos when they're not (I've even stripped out all the metadata stuff).

Also some RSS feeds won't update over WAP/3G but will when connected thru WiFi.

I've also got some dust gathering starting from the topleft corner and the topmiddle. It wasnt that bad untill 2 days ago big dust "flock" got in. It's so big it actually covers entire letters in opera mini... I rly love this phone but this is unacceptable. I'll return my phone for repair and hopefully they'll do something to those gaps at the top and bottom of the screen which only function seems to be to collect dust :S.

Hi all,

Got my G900 this weekend and loving it!!! There is only one thing bugging me so far. I searched the whole net for a solution but found nothing.

Whenever I disconnect from PC, the Media application runs automatically and updates the library with all the pics, music and stuff that I just copied. How can I stop it from doing so? Looked through all the settings and options but there's nothing.

Any advice is highly appreciated

connect phone to usb, tap "more", tap "update media library.

first thing to do with this phone is apply a screen protector.
I have had no problems with dust.

Phones like p990 and g900 need a screen protector as they have resessed screens, unlike w960 which is like the psp (flush)

Screenprotector helps from scratches, not from dust
