Seriously though, 2700mAh is pretty big, particularly for a relatively low-res (can't believe I'm saying this) 1080p screen. Moreover Sony's battery management systems are well known for being pretty much unparalleled.
Display's size is more important than resolution.

Guys, can any of you able to provide me better explanation of how QNOVO technology make your battery last longer throughout the day? (It states more battery life [2 days])

For power draw? Perhaps it is. I'm not 100% certain. What I do know is that for higher pixel-density LCD displays, a brighter backlight is needed to achieve the same overall luminance as that with a lower pixel density.
i.e a 5" 1080p display will need a brighter backlight to achieve 500 nits brightness, than a 6" 1080p display, because the former has a denser liquid crystal matrix to push the light through.
I'm not sure how backlight power consumption increases or decreases with surface area, I'd imagine it'd follow an x^2 relationship. Similarly, not sure how backlight brightness demand increases with pixel density for a given surface area. If its more than a simple quadratic function and is cubic or exponential, then pixel density has a greater influence on power consumption. If it also is a quadratic relationship, then increase in screensize will be off-set by the decrease in pixel density and it won't matter. If it is linear, then screen size plays a greater role.
We're also forgetting that this is using an mid-range SOC, so power draw from there will be lower than a comparable flagship so....

It doesn't make it last longer, at least not the power but the health. It can be recharged many more times the usual Li Ion batteries before it dies.
Qnovo has nothing to do with 2days battery life.

In yesterday's Google IO... did any one notice any thing about Sony ?
I didn't saw it all, but even when listing the Daydream partners, Sony wasn't among them...

Esato was founded in the year 2001 and was mainly targeted at Sony Ericsson mobile phone users. We started with a couple of services offering free ringtones, grayscale logos for the Ericsson T39 and R520 models. We have expanded the service to include free color backgrounds for over 50 mobile phone models. Other popular services are the discussion forum for anyone interested in topics about mobile phones and accessories. Even if the focus was targeted at Sony Ericsson owners, we now have separate forums for owners of other brands. The most popular sections are the News, Blog, discussion forum, Free themes, free color backgrounds and a service where users can upload images from a PC and download a converted image down to their mobile phone.

The XA Ultra is disappointing and knowing how Sony is going to price the phone it's already DOA.
6" device with just a pathetic 2700mAh battery? Really? Still no USB Type C in sight. No OIS for the main camera, but for the front facer?? Just 16GB internal memory. Mediatek CPU.
If Sony's track record is any evidence, the XA Ultra is gonna be priced around $500-600, and will be DOA rightly. Although I hate many things about this phone, I absolutely love the bezel-less huge display and the looks of the phone. If only it came with a 4000 mAh battery, Snapdragon 652 SoC, OIS in rear camera, 32 GB ROM, USB Type-C port, and a fingerprint scanner, I would grab this in a heartbeat.
simply means you are not the target of this phone...

The XA Ultra is a spiritual follow-up to the M/T/C Ultras since they're dropping those lines but still want to carry the Ultra devices to the markets that crave them (eg. China) They have chucked them in under the XA line. The dead giveaway is the Mediatek chipset.
The way I figure it, X is the new Z, XA is something else (so far it looks like it contains the new C Ultra handset but may also end up with T, M and E equivalent handsets).
