I just completed the process - download, installation, modification, and copying of the Walkman 3.0 files. All that's left now is to reboot the phone - and hope that it boots!!
@mamba: I have my eyes on Windows Mobile: Samsung i780 or the Motorola Q9h (available from Celtel for N48,000 only).
When I submit this post, I'll reboot my P1 - and receive my judgement.....

I think I'm gonna get myself a P1, W960i is still too expensive and with a cool music player like the WM3 on a P1, its the best of both worlds.

Like O'Yom I had my eyes on the Samsung i780 (that is one loaded WM device going for a reasonable price). I actually dashed to Saka Tinubu to confirm the price and availability before hacking the P1.
@O'Yom: Congratulations! I knew you would dare. Let me know if you come across a good mod. So far, other mods I saw at ipmart forums are not worth the risk.

I have finally hacked my PI guys.. WM3 is definitely worth the risk I took. I'm gradually beginning to like this P1. I guess I'll still switch to a G900 once it's available in Naija..

Speaking of switching, honestly after the P1, if SE or Moto do not give us power users something along this line, and S60 stays just as basic as it currently is, my next smartphone is likely to be Windows Mobile. There are signs that WM prices are beginning to be reasonable.

Yes. O! Nokia seems to be running out of ideas these days. Nothing innovative only repackaging old features in new phones. Physically the new S60 phones like N81 and N96 look too similar. Other designs are just dull...no wow factor.

This is really taking me by surprise. Samsung i780, a recently released WM6 PPC device selling for N51,000 is truly breaking tradition especially when HTC's S720 WM5 smartphone released nearly 2 years ago is selling for N60,000.
More of this Samsung. LG and Motorola are following Samsung's lead...More please!
By the way, S60 owners, your phones are 'hackable' too O! So, share your experience.

Celtel is currently selling the Moto Q9 (WM6) for less than N50,000. Good. But I haven't seen any such devices from LG yet.

Nna, it is for this reason that I decided to go the S60 way by purchasing the E50, but so far I've not been able to "hack" it yet.
I've however been able to install the following applications for free

Searching for the following
Psiloc IRemote
Psiloc Font magnifier

But I'm still going to get me the P1
