LOL, that must've been hilarious.

I have to admit that despite all manner of video-calling phones available nowadays, I have yet to make a video call or own a video-calling-capable phone.
I still have the 3G Nokia 7600, but this does not have video calling. Maybe my next phone will have...

I have made one so far, and that was at the airport with some friends who was there with me. Was great, cos i could see the delay and all.

We went out straight after work last night. What a hectic night! Played pool for awhile, till i got bored, then i watched an episode of house. At one stage we sat at the bar and some promo people for brutal fruit came in, got free brutals, lemon flavour. It is a girls drink. Tastes too much of cordial lime. The one promo chick was quite hot.

Anyway, at that stage my one friend had an offer from two clients secretaries, they wanted us to go to sun city, because they wanted company. They were hot, single and ready. It was the devil i tell you! We so wanted to go, but decided against it in the end despite the sexy mms they sent.

So then we went to the other side of the city to go visit a colleague whos gf broke up with him and ended going for lebanese chicken. Then home to watch tv.what a wild night. What did you guys do?

Had a great time at my fave restaurant with the better half and my nephew. (He returns to SA next month, and we're sure gonna miss him. His 2-year holiday working visa is up soon. He has done so well here to pay for his own university costs in SA.)
The restaurant is called Aroma, and has a fantastic buffet (mostly Chinese dishes). It reminds me a lot of The Boma in Jozi, although not as thematic.
If you wanna romantic dinner, forget Aroma. If you wanna just experience the joys of food, it's the place. It takes a good 45-50 minutes deeper into Essex just to get there (it's in Basildon), but it's just so worth it. (well for us, anyway.)

Well, i had the CT scan done yesterday, followed by an IVP (they make you drink some barium followed by a shot of iodine into the veins). Gotta see the doc on Monday afternoon again, so i've been sent home for the weekend, thank goodness.

One of my best friends came around last nite sporting an N91, quite an improvement on his 3650.

I met an Englishman yesterday who told me a good joke- Jake White and his wife get invited to a fancy dress ball... The wife goes as Cinderella and he goes as a pumpkin, the theory being that when it strikes midnite, he may turn into a coach

@ Kryptik,
Glad they deemed it OK for you to go home for the w/end. Good luck on Monday, boet.

This is something I shoulda bought ages ago. After looking at loads of specs about Bluetooth headsets (including the Akono range (Hayi-khona range? ) and Nokia's new offerings, I eventually settled for the tiny new Jabra JX10.
If you look at the size of the ear-hook in comparison to the rest of the headset, you get some idea just how small the thing is.
Specs, design and size were the key factors for choosing this one. It is beautifully made, nice attention to detail and even that desktop charger looks snazzy.
It's on charge at the mo, so we'll see how it performs this week.

However, there's no way I'm wearing any BT headset apart from when I'm driving or flying the radio-controlled planes... it just looks incredibly sad (socially retarded?) seeing people wear BT headsets in shopping malls etc. (IMO )

Hear hear! For a start, it looks pretentious when people are constantly wearing their headsets but never seem to get any calls. As it is i very rarely use any type of headset anyway... there's no need for it, in my situation.

The Vodashop? commercial which i've noticed on tv emphasizes this, i think. There's this middle-aged chap being taken by his yuppy colleague to a Vodashop... Next thing you know, he's in an elevator, fiddling away on his phone, telling the girl next to
him that's he's activating his "blueteeth" Priceless... but also symptomatic of the majority of our population. How many cellular users actually know the effective range of their headsets? Or know of the dangers inherent to leaving Bluetooth activated on their top-of-the-range-must-have-it-gotta-outdo-the-Joneses/Mncingis-syndrome Symbian models? Not many, i'd warrant... Currently the next best thing to sliced bread is wireless. But do they know what it is? Nope, but if the media says its THE in-thing, i've gotta have it at all costs...

Glad to see the Boks won the rugby second time round, thanks to the drop-goals tactics in particular. They weren't at all spectacular in that first half an hour though, but a win is a win.. @ jmash, thanks bhuti. It was on the 23rd. How's the 'settling in' to your own house going?

@ wanqa, lol! When i read about the bluetooth headset i wanted to bring up the point you went straight into, but you beat me to it:) it does look retarded, and the first time i ever noticed how much was when a friend of mine walked past a place i was waitering at. I thought she has never looked so dumb. Since then i have been toxic towards the bluetooth thing, but for driving it does make sense. I like hiding my handsfree kit in what i am wearing, and it looks fine. It might look dodgy when i talk to myself though, but people look for wires when you do. Also, i am highly aware of the dangers of bluetooth so i never leave mine on beyond usage. When i am done, the bluetooth goes off.
