roflmao @ the pregnant guy!! That's a brilliant story!!

Speaking of things which are unique to SA, some of us (like me) would see the humour in this picture- (@Deluded, when viewed upside down it spells out a particularly rude Afrikaans word which is used in many contexts).

Speaking of toilet paper printed with the face of Paris Hilton, there's a lady up in Gauteng who can do the same type of printing on toilet paper and tissues for a mere R20 per roll.

@ mario,
LOL, 'cos no one else wants 'em. (jokes)
Ah, smartphones other than Nokia...
I had an opportunity to fiddle around with both phones at the Smartphone Show, and I can't say I was blown away by either.

I really miss the back-and-forth of the thread..At my old job I used to post throughout the day now I'm lucky if I can post anything during business hours.
@deluded: Where are from? Do you have any link with South Africa?

Awesome day in Slaapstad but I didn't enjoy much of it as I was either doing my job or stuck in traffic.
@bradboy: Mfana, I'm heading out to Durban for three days around Christmas to attend a friend's wedding (black peeps spend their 13th cheques on cars and weddings:grin: ) so we to hook up, last yr I was to busy running around in your crazy city.

@da krypsta: Grootman, right now life is hectic indeed...It's almost the end of the year and I can't even take a properly holiday...in the same breath I should say that I enjoy my work immensely for the satisfaction it provides me.

I need to sleep...past midnight.

Ja nee, it's definitely 'quieter' without da brixsta being able to drop in here during 'office hours' like he used to.

@ brixster,
What ever happened to SA's Qeo Wireless Q500 smartphone from 3-odd (I think) years ago?

My name's Günther, i'm a 20 year old male from East London.
I've just finished my second year of college, studying systems engineering at Damelin.
On moday i signed a contract to work for Dimension Data as a on site Support Engineer for Walter Sisulu University EL and i start on friday.

I'm currently using an embarrasement of a phone(if you can call it a phone) the Siemens S55 and i'm waiting patiently for Vodacom to finish network testing the w950.

@da wanqsta: Simple really, Q Wireless went bust before their first phone came out. I still remember talking to one of the big honcho's and he was making a song and dance about SA's first smartphone but the OS was sketchy and the services envisioned were a bit ahead of their time. They tried to sell their ideas to the two networks and no-one would bite and venture capital wasn't coming in so they had to call it quits. If you do an image search under my real name you might find a picture and article on the particular phone.
@kitsune: Welcome to the thread. It will take a massive adjustment going from the S55 to a 4Gig monstrosity that is the W950...why not ease yourself in with basic smartphones like the P910 or 6680
