Nobody knows and anyone who tells you they do, are lying.

Hmm, the PCB doesn't look as complicated as that, this is what you will actually be buying if you were to fix it:

I'd be very suprised if there's any more firmware after this one.... as the guy from voda says.."the K850 is at the end of its life now"
throw it in the bin and write it off as a bad purchase & never trust SE again.

Guy's .. about R3 firmy from C902 - look what SE responded to me..
"Also, we want to inform you that using the service Updates Sony Ericsson, install mobile phone Sony Ericsson K850i a version of softare new, improved, which resolves any defective software in the phone.
However, the updated software does not bring mobile phone Sony Ericsson K850i features of another mobile phone differently."
^^ using Google Translate.
I don't think we can get on K850 those new features like C902 has (via update, except XS++), but we will get improvement on UI speed, camera driver (fixed red/pinkish issue) and removing other issues.. with next f/w's.

The Phones' speed is rather good.
On the train I was texting when the Media player was on and KDPlayer was also running (I forgot to turn it off).
The phone remained stable and at acceptable responsiveness.

Prom1 - Are you using the k850i MMS settings sent by SE?. If so, use the W580i settings, I had the same problem just recently
Nope .. I chose teh K790a settings it gives me the 3 settings that are uniquely correct for Rogers - choosing the K850i does NOT give me the Rogers (goam.com for unlimited browsing as per my contract, internet.com APN is for Streaming & tethering/modem use; which the network DOES know the difference).
Whats good is I figured out an oddity with SE Support Settings site. You will ONLY get settings ONCE/Mobile phone number - and I think its tracked by your IP address. Usually its not this way but I think it was some kind of spam prevention method with the changeover of the site. Whats REALLY good is I BESTED ALL 3 Rogers Reps (and their MMSC tech) whom FAILED at getting this working. Part of the problem was my SIM ... the gold contacts where wearing thin (its really old and seen many a phone), and the other part is the Settings once they were wiped, didn't get into the phone correctly again (up to the 1st 3 attempts I chose the K850i; after the other settings never arrived). I ... yes I got it working.
A2 phones have the IP Address in the Proxy Servers> HTTP > Proxy Address!! Funny because I spent 30mins last night combing the internet and found a few of my previous posts that worked on older A1 phones failing to work ... but it gave me the idea to look for this. Now I'm MMSing ... Viva la K850!

Are you two serious??? It's MORE stable, but it is NOT fully stable. I guess I'm unlucky with the Media Player still lagging up the phone. Not AS much, but it still does...

Other than 1 reset I have yet to have any problems, and there are far less people saying they got a brod.
