Don't expect miracles from the next firmware. Some problems will be fixed, some not, and new ones will come. Certain people will be delirious with it, others again pissed off. The one sure thing is that there will be something to talk about...
Wow...that really put things in perspective

We should be careful about this "give us more RAM" issue. Since it's physically not possible to add more RAM modules to the P990, it should translate to "give us more RAM that is available for applications". Symbian 9.1 and UIQ3 are complex operating systems that require RAM for standard operations as well as other applications such as telephone, messaging etc. Even a genius programmer -which unfortunately SE doesn't seem to have on their payroll- can squeeze so much out of available RAM. We may get maybe 1-2 MB extra RAM but the most important issue is fixing the memory leak. If that is done properly -and I have doubts about that- that should satisfy most users. Although the P990 is a multi tasking device, I don't think it is meant to run 10-15 applications. For example I see no logical reason why video player and web browser should run at the same time, on the other hand, FM radio, messaging and web should be able to run simultaneously. Even with the current R5 fw, I think we pretty much have this capability. What I am really expecting from the coming fw (which all indications show is a newer R5) is more optimized code, correction of known bugs and more stability with less memory leak. Unfortunately, we will most likely have to wait for R6, which I expect would be released after P1 hits the market, for other enhancements and functionality.

@gseh88
You are right, I unticked the Unified Box when backing up and the backup of all the other parts went through. Will I miss something when I restore this backup?

The unified inbox contains your SMS and email messages, you will not be able to restore them.
Have you tried to make a backup of "the unified inbox" only?

@exokello
You won't get your sms/mms/email etc restored, it'll all be wiped out with your format/master reset/update

Hmmm . . . I thought I had the latest firmware version, but I'm running SEUS right now and it's doing a large download . . .
