Quite different from those fancy samples with suspect EXIF data.

Yeah, exactly.
Anyone still honestly thinking that this picture in the London SE store and the one with the Omega watch were taken with the same device? The whole feel of the picture is juts so very different.
If they achieved that much with firmware refinement, they must be employing Merlin at SE, LOL.

I just took the pic, didn't fine tune any settings - just point and clicked. I'm gonna see if I can borrow one for a day or two, so will have to take more pics if I get my hands one one.
you didnt resave or anything? there's very little(none) exif info and the resolutions doesnt seem to be right.

tnx
thats alot of noise though, how where the lightning conditions in your opinion?
It seems the 3,2mpix SE camera has less noise when comparing with this picture.
Oh well guess I'll just hafto wait and see what the final result will be.

There is only one thing: you see the typical CMOS noise, but that was expected (sadly).

I'm wondering why

wouldn't use Sony's excellent 5MP CCD chip for this phone. Worries about battery life? Weight? Life expectancy? Price?
I believe someone in this thread already preordered this phone? Feelings of regrets coming on??

They would gladly put and entire SLR unit into a phone, but who's going to buy a phone for 2500$? Thats the point.

cost, size, and I think I remember the CCD to be slower so it cant be used to capture video.
