@Brix Some phones are Vodafone exclusive when they are branded.When you buy a Vodafone branded phone you can take advantage of the global and exclusive content like FERRARI,ManUNITED, etc.I know you dont like branded phones but in future you will see them everywhere in SA.Vodafone Live portal was made available on 8 APRIL but will be LAUNCHED 17 APRIL 05 next Sunday......ITS GOING TO BE BIG........WHO OFFERS FREE BROWSING.YOU CAN BROWSE THE IOL PORTAL FOR FREE only from Vodacom Vodafone This message was posted from a P900

I won't be buying branded phones and I don't like either Ferarri or Manure... There'll be a gap in the market for unbranded phones. This message was posted from a T68i

This would be a good case for the Competition Commission. Forcing consumers to buy branded phones with portals that "lock in" users is surely uncompetitive. This is what we can expect if Vodafone buys Vodacom...which hopefully never happens. This message was posted from a T68i

@mario + others

you mentioned MTN service levels... i honestly think you made that up just to spite tahir, no 1 gets good or even decent service from MTN, thats actually the stats and its in the financial mail june '04.

my moms on MTN, the service with - when u dial 808... is pathetic even on upgrades, voda gives away the top phones on lower packages on upgrades where as MTN you have to pay in alot.. eg; e700 last year was free on voda weekend but R600 pay in on mycall 100!!

as for the warranty if you trying to take advantage of the system then ofcourse they wont help you!

iv had excellent service even though I broke the phones 50% on purpose and 50% mistake, it wasnt supposed to break that bad but any way they gave me a 6210 for my broken 5210!!!

that actually forced my step dad to get a vodashop cos he was amazed at their proffesional service... but thats just my experiences

Well I was due for an upgrade yesterday, and have been waiting patiently for over 3 months to get a V800.
To my surprise, it was launched Thursday 7 April, just in time I thought to myself. Sunday morning I go along to Vodaworld with all my documents ready. Go straight into the Vodacom4me shop, and to my horror ~ SOLD OUT. Go across to Vodashop ~ SOLD OUT. Go to Voda Customer Care ~ SOLD OUT. They recon that they'll only recieve new stock in about 2 weeks. F@$K

Now really pissed off, I go along to the SE shop to have a chat to them. While in the shop, someone else came in to have a look at the working V800. He said that he had just come from one of the shops, and they had said that he can get one, IF he is prepared to pay R700...WTF. He was on a Talk500, so the phone should have been FREE.
Something tells me that some VERY dubious employee's are taking advantage of the LIMITED stock.

To make matters even worse, they did not have stock of a Sumsung D500, which is what my GF wants.

Sorry for the rant, just me venting....

I suppose you can browse sites but would Vodafone allow you to download, say mp3's from sites. The answer is no, ask anyone on Vodafone 3G in the UK.

I will agree with KBR786.The D500 is the fastest selling phone in SA..........................................If you have any problems doing upgrades for the V800.Please contact the upgrade dep on 0821959.......Stores might have stock but might only sell them for new lines....I have the vodafone portal address if KBR786 allows me to put it here i will post it.Sabc123,etv and Mnet are there.
